    Summary

What stood out against the scars across Tim's chest and torso was a small bronze key hooked into a chain like a necklace. The key itself was barely big enough to open a large diary or a small lockbox.

Jason leaned forward. “What’s the key for, Baby Bird?” He grinned excitedly. Because now they were on better terms. Great terms, even. Which means he can tease his baby brother about his jewelry all he wants.

Yet something akin to agony flashed across Tim’s face so quickly that Jason almost thought he was making it up.

    ...

The key that breaks open the history behind Tim becoming Robin - and the things that happened after.

“Jason,” Tim whispered. Jason ignored him. “Jason,” Tim hissed, a little louder. “Why did you kill me?”

Jason sighed, lifting an arm up to cover his face. “You replaced me,” he whispered back, his words lacking the bite they normally carried. “What the fuck was I supposed to do?”

    Summary

Tim Drake has landed in an alternate universe and something is very wrong here. He needs to find a way home, but in the mean time everyone's hiding something from him, and he plans on getting to the bottom of it.

    ----

That’s where he’s waiting when he hears footsteps behind him. He doesn’t try to hide.

"If you do this, Master Tim, I fear you will be opening a can of worms that is much better left closed."

Tim turns and regards Alfred for a moment before letting out a tired sigh. "I have to know, Alfred."

"But why, sir? You will be going home, soon. Why does it matter?"

Tim shrugged. "I can't help it. I have to know. I'm a detective. It's how he raised me."

Alfred's smile is sad, his eyes suddenly damp. "No, my boy. I believe you came to us that way all on your own."

    Summary

Jason glanced up, squinted, and immediately hit him with, “Ugh. Replacement.”
Tim’s whole body froze mid-stride. The word hit him like an anvil someone tried to pass off as a throw pillow. Replacement?? Replacement what? Replacement why? Replacement since when? He stared like Jason had just announced he was a priest now.

Tim gets transported to another dimension… again, but this time it’s different. At first, he hopes it’s maybe a mirror of his reality, but the longer he looks, the clearer it becomes: it’s worse. Every familiar landmark is… well, the same actually— but every face he recognizes carries a different version of themselves. The rules of reality feel broken, and everyone is driving him mad. This dimension isn’t just strange—it’s hell. Because why does everyone insist he needs coffee?!?

Or alternatively, Tim wakes up in the Fanonverse.

    Summary

“The Red Hood has been good for Gotham,” Robin continued. “Crime in Park Row decreased by sixty one percent almost as soon as you showed up, and that’s even taking into account all the crime you commit. Drug overdoses have decreased by twenty two percent in adults and seventy nine percent in minors. Homeless minors are ninety two percent less likely to—”

“Kid,” Jason interrupted. “Enough statistics. What the hell is this about?”

Robin slowly lowered the tablet with his powerpoint presentation and looked up at Red Hood.

“You care about Gotham,” Robin summarised. “Gotham needs Batman. Batman is missing and so is Nightwing. We need you to fill in for Batman.”

“You want me to cover Batman’s patrols?” Jason clarified.

“No,” Robin said. “I want you to be Batman.”

    Jason bluescreened.

(Or: Batman and Nightwing mysteriously disappear before Red Hood has even started antagonising them, Robin is desperate, Gotham needs Batman, and Red Hood is Batman-Shaped.)
