Jason glanced up, squinted, and immediately hit him with, “Ugh. Replacement.”
Tim’s whole body froze mid-stride. The word hit him like an anvil someone tried to pass off as a throw pillow. Replacement?? Replacement what? Replacement why? Replacement since when? He stared like Jason had just announced he was a priest now.Tim gets transported to another dimension… again, but this time it’s different. At first, he hopes it’s maybe a mirror of his reality, but the longer he looks, the clearer it becomes: it’s worse. Every familiar landmark is… well, the same actually— but every face he recognizes carries a different version of themselves. The rules of reality feel broken, and everyone is driving him mad. This dimension isn’t just strange—it’s hell. Because why does everyone insist he needs coffee?!

“Of course not,” you quickly say. “Never. No. That’s horrible. Can you imagine what would happen if it got out?” You wince. “Sorry, stupid question, you probably have.”

Tim looks at the gun in other-Tim’s hand, at the too-familiar fingers wrapped comfortably around its trigger. He realizes he should say something to his twitchy, armed, possibly evil doppelgänger, so he very calmly tells him, “Please don’t shoot any more equipment.”

For the record, Tim had thought that punching the disappearing-people meta was a bad idea. And then he’d punched the neo-Nazi government agent in the face, so maybe he didn’t have any grounds to stand on. And then the personification of American patriotism, shady American spy branches, and said neo-Nazi organization that was probably part of the aforementioned came after them, and that was completely his fault.

Before he can fully process this revelation, Ra's Al Ghul forcibly pulls him into the League of Assassins' war with the Council of Spiders. The mission brings him all around the world, and delivers him into the hands of a man from Bruce's past that everyone calls the "Ghostmaker."

But when the Flash's sudden intrusion on his stakeout snowballs into his case being annexed by the League, a highly inconvenient head injury, and the threat of detainment on the watchtower, Jason strikes up a last-ditch deal at the cost of working in close quarters with an team of distant acquaintances he'd do anything to avoid, and who seem to share the feeling. -
