“Why are you really here, Tommy?”
Tommy looked at him. There was a certain shine in his eyes. A glint of mischief, of knowing—the jester was planning something, and Purpled couldn’t decipher what it was. It agitated him. With every second that passed in this cold, dark end of the hallway, Purpled wanted to draw his sword more.
Tommy took a step forward. Their faces were close, and Purpled had the urge to back away. He resisted that urge. No honorable knight would back down in the face of danger.
“I think you know, Grayson. ”

Summary
Purpled was itching for another job, even if it had to be with a partner, even if it had to be an infiltration, he would do anything to be back on the field. Even if it meant putting himself in near direct line of sight of someone that wouldn't hesitate to break every single bone in his body if given the chance.
Tommy wants to believe he's not being lied to by his family about his missing best friend, but it's tough to believe they don't know more on the topic when they own an entire crime syndicate. Benefit of the doubt is what he's aiming for, though, and at least his partner for this mission seems interesting enough to keep his attention.
