"And this is why it didn't work, Jughead! This is why we ended things!" She exclaims, a scoff passing her lips. He's not sure if it's because of his behavior or if she's just tired of repeating herself.
"No, you ended things because it got harder. It got harder than you wanted. I didn't fit your idyllic, picturesque future!" Jughead shoots back, to his own ears his voice betrays more self-disgust than anger. He hates the defensiveness he can never shake. He hates that he says things just because he knows it'll make her angrier.
