Instead of the predicted blush rising in his cheeks at Shanty’s suggestive tone, Hol just let out a dry laugh and walked out of the room stiffly. Something about it left the pirate on edge. Perhaps the cowboy must’ve simply been having a bad day.
The excuse still did not bode very well in his gut, and Shanty moved to take a sword off the rack hanging in his room. He considered the pistol on his nightstand, quickly dismissing it.
