Lily: Well. There is very interesting studies I have read recently.
Karolina: We’re listening!
Lily: Research shows that abstinence can significantly improve athletic performance. Testosterone levels, energy conservation, mental focus. All better with sexual abstinence.
Jackie: Wait, seriously?
Lily: Oh yes, very serious research. Professional athletes should abstain completely during playoff runs. Some studies suggest 6-8 weeks for optimal results.
Satu: SIX TO EIGHT WEEKS?!
When “Lily” gets added to the Montreal Voyageurs WAGs group chat, she comes armed with peer-reviewed research, vibrators for everyone, and one revolutionary idea: a playoff sex ban for optimal athletic performance. The WAGs are convinced it’s evidence-backed science, the team is suffering, and Ilya is having the time of his life watching his handiwork unfold.

When Coach Wiebe suggests that Luca Haas should move in with Ilya for a while, as both of them seem lonely, Ilya nearly loses his mind. Not only does this mean he will see Shane even less than before, but it also means that the Centaurs have realised that Ilya's mental health is suffering. The worst part is that when Ilya tells Shane about it, Shane actually supports the idea, saying that it might be good for Ilya and Luca.
Turns out it's the second-best thing that has ever happened to Ilya.

“I don’t remember his name. Blond. Russian. Kind of intense.” Shane tries to keep his brain from lingering from memories of Ilya’s hands in his hair.
Rose has her mouth open when he looks over at her. “You literally talked to the team captain and you didn’t even know? Shane that was Ilya Rozanov.”
Shane feels like he can’t breathe for a second at the sound of his name.
“That sounds right. Yeah.”
After a few seconds, Rose holds out her phone. It’s a picture of Ilya she has pulled up from Google. He is in a hockey uniform but his helmet is off, curly hair glistening with sweat. “This is who you talked to, right?”
Shane nods. He hopes that it isn't obvious on his face that he did much more than talking with the man.
AU Where Shane Hollander is a rising actor and meets hockey star Ilya Rozanov at a club while celebrating an award show win. Between filming a movie where Shane is playing a gay man and having a casual relationship with Ilya, Shane deals with defining his sexuality and trying not to ruin their casual relationship with his feelings for Ilya.
