Summary
Due to an ancient blood feud coming due, neither Draco nor any of the Weasley family can use their magic until the feud is resolved with either a death or a marriage between the two families. Ron steps up to take one for the team.
Twenty minutes later, Draco was outside, and aware of a number of interesting data points.First, he was not at the recognized edge of his property, but well within the bounds, halfway through the fields that were a part of the Malfoy grounds.
Second, the grounds, which had been lush and green yesterday, were in considerably worse condition now.
Third, just across the invisible demarcation of bad to worse repair, stood not one person responsible for his misfortune, but six.

“At the Yule Ball, was your date annoyed at you watching Granger dance with Krum all night?”
“Yes,” Ron admitted.
“So was mine.”
“You were into Hermione?”
“No, you dolt, I was watching Krum.”
With a sigh, Ron agreed, “Viktor Krum was probably a lot of people’s sexual awakening that summer.”

Summary
“In regards to the defendant Draco Malfoy, it is the opinion of this court that while his crimes against wizarding society as a member of the terrorist group known as the Death Eaters are not to be discounted entirely, the mitigating circumstances are considerable. In light of these circumstances, this court is prepared to modify his temporary sentence of full house arrest into a magically enforced parole, under the guardianship of a trained Auror as parole officer.”
The terms went on and on: confiscation of his wand by the court. Freezing all his assets. Magical restriction to remain within twenty feet of his parole officer when not within his own or his parole officer’s legal abode, a restriction which if resisted in any way would be imposed through constriction of his lungs, only fully relieved through not just proximity but physical contact with his parole officer. A ban on leaving the country. A minimum term of five years, pending favourable report by his parole officer.
“Do you accept these terms of parole?” the speaker of the Wizengamot asked.
“I accept,” he said.
Draco Malfoy is given magically-enforced parole, with Auror Harry Potter as his parole officer.

Summary
Let’s take the story, and turn it on its side.
Here’s what we’re taking: Severus Snape apologized to Lily. They rebuild their friendship; he joins the Order, until Dumbledore convinces him to be a double agent. He is named godfather to Harry. On Halloween night, he goes to Godric’s Hollow to find James, dead on the floor of the front room; Lily, gone; Harry, squalling in his crib.
But let’s tell it like this: Lily lives.
Yes, they are in hiding, but so were Alice and Frank, and now they are in St. Mungo’s for life and their Neville, the same age as Harry, all alone with his grandmother, and Alice was her friend - so when there is a chance at bringing the Lestranges and Crouch Jr. to justice, Lily jumps at the mission. James stays home with the baby, and she goes out on Halloween with Remus Lupin and Alastor Moody to fight.
She comes home late but flushed with victory, and the joy dies in her throat when she sees her empty house.
“You’ll stay, won’t you?” Lily asks, her green eyes shining. “At least for– they’re saying the war is over, you don’t need to hide, and I, I can’t do this alone, Sev. I don’t know how to do this on my own.”

Summary
What if Draco Malfoy had been the Chosen One? We only need to tweak the prophecy a little; move the birth month up a month or so, change the parents from those who thrice thwarted the Dark Lord to those who supported him. Certainly Voldemort would not have hesitated to kill Lucius and Narcissa, no matter how loyal they were, if their infant son was all that stood between him and immortality.
This much is still true: Draco Malfoy grew up loved.
Draco Malfoy is also, still, a self-centred child, to whom “doing the right thing” does not come easily. Still, he has an aunt and an uncle and a cousin whom he loves, and who love him, who give him disappointed looks when he does something that fails to meet their impossible standards, such as when he makes Neville Longbottom cry for the third time in as many weeks.
In this world, Harry Potter has two living parents and Draco hates him for it. Longbottom is all right, when Draco isn’t making him cry, but every other word out of Potter’s mouth is “My dad” this and “My dad says” that as if it hasn’t occurred to him that not everyone has the luxury of having a father and he needn’t rub Draco’s nose in it all the time.

What if the Dursleys raised Harry in a loving home?
What if, yes, Petunia screamed when she stepped outside to bring in the milk and found a baby, but then she shushed his startled cries, cradling him close because he was family and he was hers now, and brought him to the nursery?
What if they never put Harry under the stairs; that cupboard was for the dustbuster and broom, and the third bedroom on the upper floor was for their nephew, once the boys were old enough to be out of the cradle and each have their own room?
We can’t save everyone, sure; some villains go too far beyond the pale to deserve the attempt. But there are so many who built up a more low-level evil that was formed by a combination of their worst instincts and the wrong set of circumstances and conditions. What if we tweak those circumstances, just a little? What if we alter the conditions?
Lily had gotten everything, but: now Petunia had what had been Lily’s. She had the last laugh, didn’t she? Harry was hers, now, and she would not be made to give him back. (She did not laugh at all, for a month, because her bright, beautiful sister was dead, never coming back.)

Summary
In the fall and winter of 2012, the TVTropes team behind Echo Chamber ran an incredible ARG (Alternate Reality Game) called The Wall Will Fall. The premise of the game was that the Fourth Wall between fiction and reality was fracturing, and needed to be repaired as fictional characters fell through into our world. Part of the game mechanic was the writing of fanfiction, involving specific characters, settings, and tropes, to return the characters in question to fiction.
This series consists of the pieces I wrote for these events, although only three of my attempts were chosen as canon in the game.

She escapes with the help of friends and does the only thing Kel could ever conceive of doing in that instance-- she keeps fighting Tortall's war.
This is Kel, however; she is always willing to fight her battles alone, but people will always rise up to fight alongside her.

He glanced at the dark corner of the lab, a type of breathing blackness that moved even when it didn’t, the very air and space and void of the darkness slowly expanding and contracting as the thing within it watched him. Theo flicked his wand, sending a key soaring toward the dark corner, clattering against the stone wall he could not see. Another flick, another careening key. Over and over and over again until one key going remained on the bench.
“A point for going, today,” Theo mused.
Without a care to the hour, and only modest curiosity about his destination, Theo picked up the key and activated it, hurtling himself somewhere, anywhere, but there.
