“No,” the man outside admitted sheepishly, looking down. He went back to wringing his hands. “Do you?”

Looking down, his eyes met two strikingly blue ones surrounded by concerned eyebrows and a field of deep red blush that almost obscured the owner’s freckles. They held newly relieved eye contact for a moment … and then another moment, neither saying a word. Still in this awkwardly positioned embrace.
