Summary
After a decade of living together, Charlie, Isaac, Tao, and Elle are renegotiating what being friends looks like in light of big life changes. Professor Charlie Spring/running coach and self-defense instructor/rugby coach Nick Nelson meet at a professional development meeting for coaches at the community center: friendship and accidental (?) flirting ensues. Tara and Darcy become each other’s people in this messy thing we call life. Imogen and Sahar show the meaning of home, in all its glory. This aged up American AU Heartstopper is a love story–a story of love for my college town, a story about (sometimes complicated) love for rural homes, a story of falling in love, and a story that celebrates and dignifies the love of friendship and other deep, non-romantic, loves. Because when everything feels like it’s falling apart, love is what holds us together.

Summary
"When Charlie Spring was little, he was known as a happy, exuberant, and imaginative child - universally liked by everyone in his orbit.
Before long, circumstances began to slowly smother the optimism and excitement he exuded. He would grow up too much, too soon, making him withdraw and isolate."
This is a story about a boy growing up in an environment where he feels he doesn't belong, he doesn't fit in, and all he wants is someone to stand by his side. Charlie's story is one of courage and resilience, of facing innumerable challenges yet still being true to himself, refusing to compromise on his innate values and beliefs. It is a story of hope.
This fic will build a different backstory for Charlie, but his character will, in essence, be similar to canon. Charlie will meet Nick at uni. This is not a slow burn; once they meet, they are immediately gone for each other, and they will have their romance and happy ending despite some challenges and road bumps along the way. This is Nick and Charlie we're talking about.
Despite the heavy angst tagging, there will be loads of fluff to balance!
For the first time ever, I am creating original characters and it's been so much fun to do!
