The Halo wants things the way a tree wants water and shoves a taproot through flagstone to get it, which is all well and good for the tree, but less so for the idiot trying to keep her patio intact. Unfortunately for Ava, she’s both the idiot and the taproot. The flagstone is her dignity. The water – for reasons becoming rapidly and unavoidably apparent – is Beatrice.

She starts forward and then stops herself with a jerk. Beatrice is an adult, Beatrice can handle herself, Beatrice could probably lay out everyone in this train car without displacing a single hair on her head, and Ava is the mess that dragged her out of her life. Beatrice doesn’t need Ava to save her, doesn’t need saving at all when it comes to a charming-looking hot guy with wavy hair and a good smile, but then he leans closer to Beatrice and Ava feels the halo flare in her back and stomps over, slings her arms around Beatrice, hooks her chin over her shoulder.

Hours pass, and Adora still can't sleep. She recalls when Lonnie told them about the tattoos, Adora had carefully watched Catra's expression, her heterochromatic eyes bored and uninterested. Adora hadn't felt that way, it didn't sound all bad. If they're real, she had thought, with flutters in her stomach, I want it to be you.
It's painful to think about. Even if she did have Catra's name on her wrist, she can't imagine that it would make a difference. Catra wouldn't join her before, and Adora's certain that she wouldn't join her now, tattoo or otherwise.

She is - briefly, allegedly, and they only had 10 minutes to play so it barely counts - better than Kara at Zombie Apocalypse 5. Her first video game love is Mario Kart. She laughs at Kara's jokes.
Kara knows all of this and it's only been a few hours.

She isn't expecting how easily she gets along with Blake, but eventually she recognizes a painful amount of herself in the other person.
Inspiration strikes one day; why not get married? It gets their parents off both their backs, and Blake a free ticket out of Kuo Kuana. Not to mention, free space to explore themself. What's the worst that could happen? Both of them come to learn that none of Yang's ideas are ever simple.
