It took less time to process than Ronan expected. Or more. Seconds were blurring and signals crossing; once he'd hit the second bottle of cheap, convenience store vodka, things began to blend. Meld. All shit, jet-fuel alcohol sugars. Adam's face stilled, like the halting of facial procedures helped him compute information faster.
“And that…” Adam swallowed. “That was… inspiring for you?”
“Listen to the song and tell me how inspiring it is.” Ronan wiggled the device, again. “Come on. Most guys are flattered by this shit.”
“You wrote a song about me?”
“I write a lot of songs about you.” Ronan blinked, twice.

Adam’s head snapped up like someone had just grabbed his hair and yanked, “What?”
Gansey’s trying not to look guilty face might have fooled someone who didn’t know him, but Adam had seen that look on his face so often that it was practically seared into his retinas, “I just mentioned -”
“You told him?” Adam hissed, hand involuntarily clenching at the edge of the table, “Pretty sure this is a need to know situation, Gans.”
“He’s Ronan.” Gansey said, like that explained everything, which -
Of course it explained everything. He was Ronan, tall and sleek and handsome, dangerous and beautiful like a chrome gun catching the sun as it was pressed to someone’s forehead. Ronan was Gansey’s worse half, his brother in arms, his platonic soulmate. Of course Gansey would tell him everything.

He was supposed to be smart. It was literally his job to problem-solve. How the hell had he not seen it before?
It wasn’t like this was the first time something like this happened, either. The house was constantly locking them in together, or opening doors when one of them was in various states of undress.

“You good, man?” Ronan asked, still chewing his bacon. Adam could practically hear his raised eyebrow.
“Ronan.” Adam said, slowly turning towards him, “Is your magical sentient house trying to set us up?”
Ronan winced, “I was hoping the house would knock it off before you noticed.”
