He knew he should’ve probably shut up and controlled himself, thrown Frank out like most of his friends had advised him to do if the guy ever showed up on his doorstep again, but Gerard let his instincts work against his rationality.
It paid off, when he saw Frank nod almost like he was ashamed.

Keep in mind that Ian doesn’t get flustered easily, he’s a lawyer for god sake he has to be confident and strong willed, but this guy gave him butterflies in his stomach immediately.
