“Open your lips,” she asked, bringing the red pigment closer to his mouth. "There's nothing wrong with our desires, even the desire to be someone else”, she said with gentle firmness, tracing the outline of his lips with her lipstick, finally moving it across the inside of his lower lip. “You're already beautiful, Chase. See?”, she asked, stepping back so he could look in the mirror. She felt like a sparrow next to him, devoid of color, but it didn't bother her, it only made her love him more, even though he wore the strawberry color of her lipstick much better. “Do you like it?”
