Summary
The Force has been telling Obi-Wan Kenobi since he was very young that he was destined to be a Jedi, he interpreted that to mean a Jedi Knight but that’s not what the Force had in mind. A change in Obi-Wan’s health and apprenticeship changes his Jedi path - from Jedi Knight to Jedi Sage. While a Jedi Sage is just as effective in fighting the Dark Side, the fight looks very, very different.

Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi discovers that he is pregnant, freaks out, and tries to run away. Yoda intervenes and helps set him on a new path. Qui-Gon is not pleased by Obi-Wan’s disappearance and intends to find him. Somehow in all this, they manage to take out Palpatine and restore a race once thought to be extinct.

Summary
Obi-Wan didn't want to do the Hardeen mission, not the way it was assigned. The war was hard enough on the Jedi as it was, it made no sense to cause more hurt than was necessary. But in the end, does any Jedi truly get to choose their own fate? Then it ended up being far worse than anyone expected. Pushing through the mission, Obi-Wan was looking forward to some time afterwards to put himself back together. He doesn't get that time.

Kenobi socialized with his officers, hosted curated office hours for the rank-and-file, walked the field hospitals during engagements, and made time every Centaxday to review escalated grievance reports.
He was there for his men—but always at the exactly appropriate arm’s length away and half step ahead.
