Summary
Some people might guess that Stede would be shy or nervous in bed. But those people haven’t heard Stede whisper I want you to fill me so full of your come that it drips out of me when I walk across the deck, they haven’t watched Stede kneel over Ed, stripping his cock fast and hard until he spurts all over Ed’s face, smearing it into his skin like lotion and whispering good boy. So he’s pretty confident Stede isn't nervous about sex. But there has to be some reason he won't fuck Ed, right?

"I can read instructions for how to tie a bowline and how to navigate using the stars but there’s not a word to be found to explain how to navigate the rest.” Ed’s face is concerned but confused. Stede takes a deep breath. “The social parts. The reality of living in close quarters. All the touching and the casual nudity, and bed hopping!”
Ed drains the rest of his glass and sets it on the desk with a loud thump. “Y’know you really have been a fast learner, but I’m realizing there are a few skills I’ve been neglecting.” Ed’s hand moves to rest on Stede’s knee. “And we can’t have that.”

Summary
By the time he hits thirty-three, Dean's given up on the apple pie life, accepting that a serious relationship isn't in the cards for him. But when he meets Cas everything falls into place. Now he’s happily married, hopelessly in love, and they’re about to buy their first home together. It almost feels too good to be true.
It turns out it is. His world comes crashing down when he wakes to find that he’s been a subject in a virtual reality simulation gone wrong. All the years he thought he spent with Cas were actually experienced in less than a week. And when he gets out, Cas is nowhere to be found and nobody has heard of him. Ignoring the possibility that Cas may not be real, Dean sets out to find him and convince him that it’s worth giving Dean — and their relationship — a shot in the real world.

Dr. Novak crosses his arms and glares at Dean from across the room. “If you think there’s a foreign object lodged in your rectum then I suggest you go to the emergency room so they can take an x-ray and properly address the situation.”
Dean sucks his lower lip in and then releases it into a pout. “Aw c'mon doc. I've got a ten dollar copay here. If I go to the hospital I'm looking at a couple hundred minimum.” He spends some time admiring the strong length of the doctor's hands. “Besides I'd much rather have my favorite doctor’s fingers in me than some stranger at the ER.”

Summary
When Gimli is but a child, he gets lost in the mines of Ered Luin. It is dark, and it is cold, and he is alone.
He will never recover.
With his shaking hands and his Stonefear Gimli cannot perform as well as he wished, as a Dwarf. He can't go on a Quest to reclaim Erebor. He can't go on a Quest to reclaim Khazad-dûm.
He can, however, force his way into the Quest to save all of Middle-Earth.
There he meets Legolas, who reminds him too much of his friend Ori, in many ways.

Summary
"The Elf's whereabouts do not weigh upon my thoughts, Aragorn."
"Pray pardon my presumption, then," Aragorn inclined his head, yet a glint in his gaze led Gimli to suspect that he remained unconvinced. "You have but become forlorn since his departure.”
“Forlorn!” Gimli threw his hands up, both mortified and indignant, “A Dwarf would scarce endure such sentiments, especially for an Elf. You forget yourself, Aragorn.”
“Peace, my friend—I intended no offense, as you should well know. It need not be a matter of shame that you have come to hold him in esteem."
At this, Gimli could only huff.
Or, the five times Gimli and Legolas' bond strengthened, and the one time they fell off the precipice of friendship into the deeper waters of something else.

Summary
Life after war has much more politics than Gimli thought, and much less Legolas than he would like, but the latter he knows (or believes) he has to get used to. Or: Legolas leaps, occasionally stumbling, into a new age, while Gimli can't see the wood for the (green)leaf.
"How do your people court then?"
The question was not as abrupt as it would seem, firstly because the news that his brother was courting had clearly left Legolas in deep thought for a number of days, secondly because Legolas had long ago confessed his curiosity about the lives and customs of Gimli's kin, and thirdly because Legolas' grace was well-known to be in his light feet and not his manners.
However, Gimli saw no reason to let him have his own way entirely. "And by my people do you mean the Longbeards, or the Dwarves of Erebor, or the wandering mender that I now seem to be?"
"I meant," Legolas said, "wandering jesters."
