Summary
Things are finally sort of going Sam's way. He's got his team together. The public is slowly warming up to the idea of the Avengers being back, and him being the right Captain America to lead it. His personal life is nonexistent and he's fucking tired but hey all that hard work has paid off and it feels good! Worth it!
It would be perfect if it weren't for Bucky and his edgy team currently doing tricks for Valentina Allegra de Fontaine and having their New Avengers image slapped onto every box of Wheaties. Every phone call with the man he called his friend and partner has just led to a frustrating game of accusations, confusion, and endless circular arguments. Sam doesn't get it or understand why it feels like Bucky is hiding something from him. And it hurts more than he expects.
However, when a mission goes wrong, it puts him and Joaquin directly in the crosshairs of the Serpents. And the only place they can hide is with the very group of people they're supposed to be feuding with.

She walked through the tower halls like a woman on a mission. Hoodie up. Sunglasses on. Hands in pockets. Inside that hoodie pocket?
A literal Walgreens worth of positive pregnancy tests.
“I’m going to die,” she muttered. “And not from a bullet this time.”
Her brain was spiraling. This wasn’t supposed to be possible. The Red Room made damn sure of that. Or so she thought.
Now, here she was, one spy, 20 tests, and a growing suspicion that her baby daddy was Captain America himself.
Yup. Steve freaking Rogers.

And Sam thought he'd packed light.
“You've got to be kidding me.” Bucky huffed, the expression quickly turning into an unimpressed glare. Sam wasn't above admitting that he was a bit intimidated, one arm or not Bucky looked like he could tear Sam a new one— not to say that Sam couldn't hold his own, either. In his mind, he had good reason to be uneasy with his new roommate.
“What do you mean, you've gotta be kidding me?” Sam repeated, copying the voice in an almost mocking sense. Bucky raised an eyebrow in reply and Sam had a sinking feeling he knew exactly why he got that reaction. “Steve didn't tell you I was gonna be the roommate, did he?”
