Toji rolled his eyes. "Just tell him how you feel, I didn't raise a coward."
"You didn't raise me," Megumi reminded him.
Megumi was being haunted. Not by the ghosts of his past but an actual ghost. The spirit of his deceased father.

Summary
the obligatory canon fix-it where getou does not actually perpetuate a genocide! feat my favorite trope: found family
pt one 'and still i will live here' from gojou pov, the village and immediate aftermath
pt two 'here we are in heaven' from getou pov, the emotional/romantic resolution
pt three 'saga of suffering on the sidelines' from alternative outside povs, a companion piecept four! new bonus christmas story of the usual foolishness
i recommend reading in the posted order, but they can all roughly stand alone

Summary
"Fushiguro! You made it!" Panda, the shift manager who was essentially a giant, muscular hug in a barista apron, bounded over. "Yuuta was in here earlier. He was worried about you! Word on the street is you got 'spirited away' by some pink-haired chick last night..."
"It wasn't... she just gave me a ride," Megumi muttered, hiding behind the espresso machine.
The bell chimed. Megumi couldn't even muster the energy to look up. "Welcome to the Bean, what can I—"
"I'll take a large black coffee and whatever you have that has the most protein," an oddly familiar, vibrant voice said.
Megumi looked up. Standing there, glowing with the post-workout radiance of someone who had probably never had a hangover in her life, was Itadori.
--
Megumi Fushiguro, a scholarship student balancing a barista job and her irresponsible father's gambling mess, finds her quiet life upended by her chaotic roommate Nobara, a high energy fashion-merchandising major with a penchant for wrecking Megumi's peace, and a chance encounter with the university's superstar volleyball captain, Itadori Yuki.
Suddenly, Yuki seems to be a regular at Megumi's workplace. What's the deal with that, huh?

Summary
“I didn’t know princes could fight.” Yuji said, placing the water-jug on the floor, scanning the prince from head to toe like he could glean a backstory from appearance alone. Megumi linked his hands together behind his back, letting them process. He glanced at the portrait of his mother, and imagined a humorous glint in her eye— watching as the situation unfolded. “It’s so cool! I got my ass beat by a prince! Can you teach me?”
That caught his attention again, eyebrows furrowing. “...Teach you to…”
“Fight? What else?”
“Why?”
“Cause I already know everything the general is teaching, and he keeps getting annoyed with me for beating him. And pretending he’s going easy on me. You were going easy on me, and you still won. So what better teacher?”Bookmarked by rx_vii

Summary
It was simple, no kind of dramatic declaration. That sweet gaze closed for a moment, a gentle smile appearing below. Megumi’s thumb brushed along the corner of it, an act he’s done a hundred times and will do a thousand times more. Megumi did not often speak his love out loud; he preferred action. But it became softer for Megumi, something he found easier and easier.
Or, Megumi is allowed to live his dream.

Summary
Fushiguro puts a hand to Yuuji’s forehead. To check for a fever. Obviously.
“You feel hot.”
“I feel hot?” Yuuji balks, “No — you’re hot — feel hot — I’m — What? I —”
“That’s enough,” Fushiguro interrupts.
Is it just Yuuji or does Fushiguro look a little flushed too? But that can’t be right. When he was touching him just now his hands felt so icy.
Oh god, he’s starting to hallucinate. It’s never been this bad before. He didn’t even know heat stroke could cause hallucinations.
“I’m taking him to Ieiri.”
Fushiguro heaves him up to standing and threads an arm around his waist. The difference in temperature between Fushiguro’s cold skin and Yuuji’s overheated skin is disorienting. Yuuji puts his arm around Fushiguro’s shoulder. To make it easier for him to help support Yuuji’s weight. Obviously.
As the two of them stumble towards the infirmary, Yuuji hears what sounds like Kugisaki laughing under her breath. He glances back to see if that was real or not, but her mouth is firmly pressed into a smirk.
He’s probably just imagining things again.
OR yuuji learns that heat stroke & a crush on your best friend have a lot of the same symptoms

Shoko takes a long drag of her cigarette. “You can’t be a doctor.”
He’s slightly surprised at her bluntness; he didn’t expect her to say the fact outright.
“Why not?”
“You don’t have it in you.”
At this, Megumi speaks. “Ieiri-sensei, why are you a doctor?”
“Sometimes,” she tells him tonelessly, “we don’t get a choice.”
Megumi grows up.

Megumi does not make it to eighteen.

Yuji huffed and quietly admitted, “I’ve gone over to his place three times this week so we could practice, and he says I’m getting worse. Says if I don’t shape up, he’ll dump me. Now, I don’t know what to do.”
It was hard for Megumi to pinpoint any other emotion in her body except for bewildered anger.
Be gentle. Be nice. Be gentle. Be nice. Be gentle-
“This guy is obviously a pathetic loser with a porn addiction, Itadori. He needs his fucking ass kicked-”
“Fushiguro,” Yuji groaned, burying her face in the soft rabbit fur to escape the conversation.
(Or, Megumi is Yuji's number one defender, especially against shitty boyfriends who need something more than an ass-kicking)

"You sappy bastard." Nobara flicks his forehead, and Megumi hisses, swatting her hand away. "Why are you even here, huh? Why haven't you gotten on a train already?"
"I'm waiting," Megumi snipes back. The duh, idiot is implied, because he really thought she would've expected this. After all, no one would be surprised at him staying for Yuuji, even if it takes another few hundred years. But...
