‘So why did Jason run away, Mister Wayne?’
‘I’m sorry?’
‘That’s alright, I will explain. You say you know him well. Contrary to popular belief, teenagers whose only friend is their father do not run away from home and end up on another continent on a whim. You personally have, by all accounts, enough money and influence to grant every kid’s wildest dreams. So what did he want that you couldn’t give it to him? What did he want that was so far away?’
Was it to get away from you? Bruce surely heard the unspoken accusation as he physically bristled.
You cannot mourn your son, but deny the title + responsibilities of a father.
Or, the Social Worker's conversation with Bruce about Jason's death goes very differently.

Summary
Robin should have died with Jason. Instead, there's another little boy running around in danger, and the affront pulled Jason from his grave. At least he knows exactly who is responsible... and the best way to upset a butler.
Or: Red Hood Jason does not like Alfred. There will be no "Alfred Pennyworth is a Saint" in this fic.

“'Don’t. Let me make one thing—' Jason has to take in a sharp breath before he can finish the sentence, squinting his eyes open and hissing, '—Absolutely clear to you, Mr. Wayne. I am this close,' he lifts his fingers up, and makes sure that Bruce can see they’re pressed flat together, 'To shooting you. Shut the hell up.'"
AKA: After a mission goes wrong, Jason is left bloody, concussed, and pissed. Unfortunately for him, Bruce is just trying to keep Jason alive, which would probably be easier if Jason wasn't ready to strangle him.
