He doesn’t expect any different treatment when he gets transferred to 141. He certainly doesn’t expect to meet someone who offers him the first sliver of normalcy he’s received in so long. Not just normalcy, but kindness too.
Ghost becomes a catalyst of his desperate yearning for normalcy, falling too quickly into a routine of awkward dependency, which Ghost calmly fuels but his kindness and patience with the brute, and over time, they grow closer.
But, a threat to König’s newfound happiness presents himself. A threat who absolutely hates him. But, if he thinks he can keep König away from Ghost- he has another thing coming.

Harry lunged for the photo, his bloodied nose dripping crimson onto the paper as he scrambled for something to write with. But Vernon had locked away all of Harry’s things to prevent him from contacting anyone. In desperation, Harry smeared his blood across the photo with trembling fingers, scrawling three words:
Please help me.
He signed it with a shaky, almost illegible ‘Harry’ before stumbling to Hedwig’s cage. He flung the door open and shoved the photo into her talons, his breath coming in sharp, uneven gasps. Vernon’s angry bellows grew louder as he forced the door open, splinters of wood flying into the room.
“T-take it to Professor Snape!” Harry rasped, barely able to speak through the panic and exhaustion.
Hedwig let out a distressed hoot as Harry squeezed her through the narrow bars of the window. He turned just as Vernon burst into the room, his face purple with fury, his breathing ragged.

Cedric was his friend, and the happenings of the third task only solidified that. He was so done with his own life, after all, so why not sacrifice it for someone? If not for his determination, he would have given up a long time ago.

Summary

Now a child once more, Tom Riddle sets out to make a new life for himself - one that includes ensuring Harry is healthy, happy, and by his side. Unfortunately, his older self, the broken remains of Lord Voldemort, still lurks in the shadows.
