“Don’t. Don’t do this. You don’t want to do this, Hood,” Dick rambles, the dreaded truth like lead on his tongue, a swallowed weight sinking in his stomach; it’s not Jason’s fault.
He’s not in his right mind, but he’ll hate himself for it all the same. The same self-hate curdling in Dick’s gut now for getting them stuck in this situation in the first place.
Jason wrenches Dick’s head forward again with both hands. “I’ve got you,” he whispers, voice sweet and soft, and it makes Dick’s throat constrict tight, as if the hands holding his jaw in a bruising cradle have moved down to really choke him.

Jason encounters Ivy’s pollen. Dick is bound, and about to discover that if three’s a pattern, four makes a habit.

"Dick appeared in the doorway. He looked fine, hair ruffled by the wind, grocery bags in his hands, his jacket open despite the cold outside. Even with his lack of smile, his expression was far from unhappy or guilty, like one would have expected considering the fight with their father not so long ago. It shifted to mildly annoyed as soon as he spotted Jason, though.
“You know, I gave you a key so you wouldn’t climb in the window and leave it open in the middle of winter,” his brother said, closing the door by pushing it with his feet and going to the open kitchen. He started sorting out his groceries, not looking at Jason, probably waiting for some sort of retort or whatever."
OR: Jason comes at Dick's apartment to confront him after a fight with Bruce. It doesn't go as planned.

Talons of the Court do not do well in the cold. Which is fine for the way they normally operate. The Court knows to adjust for that, after all.
But when the Talon in question is a runaway, the Court long-destroyed, and with only his newly adopted owlet/little brother to keep him company...
In other words, Talon!Dick overestimates the insulation in his and Jason's hideout. Add in a snowstorm at the worst moment... No one has a good time.

“Don’t tell dad…” He squeaked out, preteen voice going high pitched in his distress. “Promise Dick. You gotta promise you won’t tell dad!”“Okay. Okay, I promise. I won’t tell Bruce anything. Now tell me what happened so I can help.” Dick pleaded with Jason, keeping his voice perfectly calm to hide his panic.
“Okay…” Jason sniffles again, sobs tapering off now that he had his assurance that Dick wouldn’t rat him out. It made him smirk. Little shit was probably giving him crocodile tears.
“Okay so… I kinda sorta… maybe…”
“Uh huh?” Dick prompted.“I crashed the Batmobile.”

Nightwing’s smile widens. Batman can see the wickedness leaking into the smile. “Does everyone usually go?”Diana nods, “Typically yes. Almost every leaguer will be there. It goes throughout the day, and we end up at shifts there in a way, so that we are still patrolling, but ensuring we can still all interact. Batman is the only one who has never made an appearance.”
Turning to look at Batman, Nightwing leans forward to get a better view of the man. “Really? You don’t say.” Nightwing smiles sweetly. “And why is that Batman?”
Batman glares at Nightwing. The two stare at each other for several tense seconds. Nightwing is holding back a smirk. “Don’t you have a family you’d like to meet everyone?”
Superman puts up a hand and starts to cut off Nightwing. “Now, Nightwing-”
“Wouldn’t they like to meet the league?” Nightwing questions, cutting off Superman.
“No.” Batman deadpans. Pushing back from the table, Batman stands and turns away.
“You sure about that?” Nightwing practically taunts.

Batman is insulted during a Justice League mission, which wouldn't be a problem except Nightwing is there to hear it. The other League members don't know this is a problem because they have no idea Batman has kids, much less that Nightwing is one of them. Bruce decides to do the only reasonable thing: go on vacation. His children probably won't burn down anything too important.
Dick just wants to defend his family and brag about his siblings. Good thing his father taught him a few things about the importance of detailed plans and talented allies.

Bruce fires Dick from Robin the day before Dick's eighteenth birthday. Dick thinks that Bruce is preparing to kick him out for good and doesn't want to face Bruce when that happens. Instead, he takes matters into his own hands and leaves on his own early the next morning. It takes a certain street kid to get these two to actually talk to each other.
Or: Bruce doesn't know how to communicate with his son and a massive misunderstanding ensues. On the plus side, he has two children now.
