“Japan’s favorite edgy nepo baby,” Hawks greets him, making a gentle landing a little ways down the alley. His wings’ downdraft tosses up bits of stray litter from the ground. “You seem lost. Do you need directions?”
Dabi turns around. Flames spark at his fingers but don’t ignite. It’s strange to see him hesitate, considering his quirk advantage; Hawks is pretty sure he could win if Dabi decided to attack him, but it’d be a pain in the ass and he’d lose a lot of feathers. If the fire comes out, flight would be wiser than fight.
“Japan's second-favorite edgy nepo baby,” Dabi corrects him, presumably in deference to Shouto, and—Hawks begs to differ. He said what he said.

Everyone loves weddings, right? Not when their ex-boyfriend who once burned off their wings, declared their love, and effectively ghosted them was reportedly somewhere on the resort.
Who the hell let him out of the mental insitution anyways? And why the hell hadn't someone told him? Hawks should leave. Fly off. Get as far away from him and the wedding as possible, except a small part of him wants to get a glimpse of Dabi - just see him. Or maybe to punch him. Definitely not to kiss him.
Ugh. He absolutely hated the hold the Firecracker had over him and deep inside he knew it could simply take a little spark to reignite their overlooked embers.

“What the fuck even was that?” Touya asked breathlessly, propping himself up on his elbows.
"Hmm?" Keigo hummed, eyes finally peeling away from where they were still connected to look up at Touya's face.
“You were all… like… possessive and shit and… Jesus, all those things you said,” Touya mumbled, trying to put together a coherent sentence. “Are you like… in rut or somethin’?”
Touya watched a lazy, lopsided grin spread across Hawks’ face. “Something like that,” he said, draping himself over Touya and nuzzling against his neck again. “‘S springtime, darlin’,” he slurred.
“Springtime. Right,” Touya mumbled, but the actual meaning of that took a few moments to settle in. “Oh,” he breathed, eyes widening for a moment as it connected in his mind that springtime was generally mating season for most birds which explains pretty much all of Hawks’ weird behaviors lately.
"Yeah,” Hawks chuckled. "Gonna be a fun couple'a weeks, hot stuff.”

“What’s it like?” Touya says. Sudden, unbidden, impossible to take back. He clears his throat. “Going to UA.” Touya can’t look when he says it. He stares off in the opposite direction like the wooden beams and window panes of the house are fascinating.
“It’s the best,” Shouto says at last. “I love the dorms. My friends are always there, and class is challenging, but in a good way—well, it’s really thanks to Aizawa-sensei.” His voice is still low and melodic like it always is, but an edge of childlike excitement seeps into it.
Touya turns to look at him, and Shouto’s whole face is lit up. It fills Touya with bittersweet fondness. He’s glad Shouto likes it there.
“Sounds fun.” Touya looks down, blinks at his own clenched hands when he realizes he isn’t lying.
