It’s the morning after Ainosuke’s life as he knows it ends, and he’s digging in the trash for a hope of salvation. He finds one, but it’s not what he expects.
'He struggled with the words, seeking toward the edges of his vocabulary. "They're… ephemeral," he said and Ainosuke's eyes widened in confusion. "They don't last very long. And I thought… even if they don't last forever, I should use them, right? If they make me happy, and you make me happy, then why not put both things I like together?"
Ainosuke gasped, touched the sticker on his face again. He looked at Tadashi, reaching out his hand for the sticker sheet. Peeled off a green skateboard, pressed it just under his mole. Tadashi smiled, so touched by the divine.'
The one where Tadashi loves journaling, and keeps a log of Ainosuke that he abandons the same night his board burns; all these years, Ainosuke's carried his heart for him.

Summary
To think Ainosuke had forgotten how fun it is. Not only to skate, but to do it with friends.
This is what the race with Langa taught him. That nothing good could be achieved by fighting alone. Ainosuke spent his early adulthood pushing everyone away when they got too close, scared of being disappointed as he had been in the past. The wound Tadashi left when he stabbed him in the back has not perfectly healed, but they are slowly getting there. And with this old grudge partially gone, Ainosuke can truly look ahead, eager to have so many people at home in his hypothetical new underground skatepark, having fun skating together.
In one night, his life took a 180° turn. A bit like a love hug. Ainosuke smiles at the irony.
Since his defeat against Snow, Ainosuke is a new man. So is Adam.
And a new man needs a new board.
