The woman paused. She took a moment to survey their surroundings: the direction of the river, the V-shaped valley they landed in, the positioning of the sun. Other than a couple faded yellow cabins on a hill, few landmarks sat high enough above the ridge to use for reference.
Finally, she pointed towards a dip in the valley. “There. South.”
“That’s west, doll.”
