    Bdubs gasped with an idea. “We could play capture the flag! Mom got some coloured flags, just for this!”

    Scar pointed at him, as if he’d just had the same revelation. “Yes!” He jumped down from his spot on the couch. “We should set up in the backyard!”

    Joel stood up and ran to the door. “Well then what are we waiting for? Let’s get everything from the garage!”

    Lizzie lifted a finger. “Great idea. Except that’s a closet.”

    Joel opened the door anyway, and then slammed it shut when he discovered the door did actually lead to a closet. He put his hands on his hips. “Why did no one tell me?”

    Lizzie babysits on the weekends. Chaos ensues.

    “It’s so funny that you went with a vampire costume,” Avid replied. He went ahead and let himself into the house, a habit after so long of visiting. Shelby didn’t even notice the intrusion, content to shut and lock the door behind him. “You look great. Very sophisticated and intimidating.”

    “Isn’t it the coolest?” Shelby brightened, giving a little twirl. “I had the contacts and the wig from a while back, but Scott helped me pick out my actual outfit a few hours ago.”

    Avid froze. 

    “Oh?” His voice came out hoarse and barely audible. “Really? Scott helped you?”

    Shelby is hosting a Halloween party for all the professors at their university. Strange how everyone keeps showing up in the exact same costume. Stranger still that Scott seems to be behind every single instance of it.

    Grian has always felt he was too observant of a person. Whether that was a gift or a curse was hard to tell at times. During his University days it felt like a harsh curse inflicted on him. His ability to pick up on the slightest change of emotions and movements made him constantly paranoid and unable to make friendships.
    When the first wave attacked, his curse suddenly became his greatest asset.

    Grian is a survivor, and a good one at that. That is until a supply run goes wrong and he finds himself waking up in an unfamiliar place. Residing there, is a strangely scarred man who for some reason can't be read by Grian despite his best attempts.
    As of 6/30/2025 this is being rewritten.

    In recent weeks, HotGuy has been leaving much to be desired on the battlefield. It seems after many long, hard fights, he just can’t keep it up. He used to be quite anal about his victories, but now he’s had a few close calls. Could it be that his arrows just aren’t what they used to be? Is he firing blanks? I wouldn’t be surprised if his enemies are having to fake their defeat. Of course, HotGuy is far from the only man who struggles to hit the target, so maybe I shouldn’t be so harsh.
    Three of HotGuy’s record fights for injuries and collateral damage have all occurred this month, an alarming statistic in the face of the continued attacks. The root of the issue may be difficult to swallow…
