Tim skidded to a stop once he reached the waiting room, because a very familiar eleven-year-old was sitting all alone in one of the uncomfortable plastic chairs, sneakered feet dangling. In fact, he was entirely in civvies; lightly mud-splattered jeans and a slightly-too-large t-shirt. His black hair was mussed and windswept, and his expression was vacant and lost.
