Summary
When Maedhros and Maglor attempt to steal the Silmarils after the War of Wrath, they are seized and taken as prisoners back to Valinor. As it turns out, a pardon has been negotiated on their behalf - but no one bothered to tell them this, or the unique conditions on which they have been released from their oath. They have simply been tied up and dumped in two different remote locations: Maglor outside a white tower near the borders of the Sundering Seas, and Maedhros on a dock at the rim of the world.
[Maedhros and Maglor are Eärendil and Elwing's war prizes and everyone has sex.]

"I am a lovely canary," then replied mimicking Sauron's voice in a caricature. "I am a lovely songbird who has nothing to do but sing for my master. I promised him, I promised him that I would be good and sing for him."
His hands twisted in a painful grip on the handle of the dagger as he continued to repeat that oath aloud.
The maia grimaced hearing the elf grotesquely imitate Sauron's voice. But he had to find a way to gain his trust, so he asked: "Can you sing?"
"That's all I can do! I can also play, and I sing and play until my voice is gone and my fingers are bleeding, but I keep my master so happy..."___
The War of Wrath happens and Angband is defeated by Manwe's herald, but inside Sauron's chambers a peculiar prisoner doesn't want to leave yet.
