It grimaces through that pinned-on smile. Its eyes are flat and dead.
“That remains to be seen,” it mutters. It shrugs its shoulders, squirms a little bit. Trying to get comfortable in skin that it doesn’t belong in.
“It’s a story about some kid who freed all the monsters,” it says. “They’re…they’re a…good…they’re…”

Alhaitham blinked, clenching his fist tightly beneath the table to keep the tension from bleeding into his expression. “So what's the problem?”
A few moments of silence passed. “Nobody's ever been able to satisfy me,” Kaveh finally whispered.
“So what’s the problem?” Alhaitham asked again.
“Don’t trivialize it,” Kaveh snapped, a flicker of annoyance crossing his face. “It's probably psychological, but I can't unpack all my fucking trauma and trust issues in a day - which is all the time I have before the symptoms get out of control.”
“You mean... you've never -” Alhaitham started, planning on finishing his question with ‘been intimate with anyone?’ - but Kaveh cut him off and threw his hands up in the air.
“No, nobody’s ever fucking made me come, Alhaitham. Is that clear enough for you?”

Kaveh shoots him a beleaguered look, eyes red rimmed and thick lashes wet as he peers up through them. Surely whatever Kaveh ingested is far from incurable. Aphrodisiacs rarely are.
“Fucking me is going to cost me?” Kaveh scoffs, visibly incensed. “You would sell yourself just to get one more thing to hold over me?”
Alhaitham’s carefully measured expression hides the way his stomach swoops.
Ah.
“Ah.” Alhaitham raises an eyebrow. A switch turns on in his head, washing out reason from his mind and starting to fill it with something else entirely. “I said I would help you, Kaveh. I didn’t say I’d sleep with you.”

As soon as he said ‘former client’, Wocky started sweating. It made him think about his own trial, and about how crappy he had acted. Would Attorney-Man do a favor like this for him? Was he like this with all of his past defendants? Or only the ones who didn't confess to the murder?
It got him all out of whack. He was flustered, okay? So on impulse, he replied:

Vera slips on her boots and picks her keys up from the bowl on the table. Her travel bag with art supplies is where she always leaves it - the hook right by the door. “I’m leaving now.”
“Sounds good, Ver. See you soon, love you.”
Vera freezes in the doorway, her hand halfway to her art bag. Wocky sucks in a sharp breath on the other side of the phone.
And then, there is a pause.
It’s a long, loud, stretched-out pause, the kind of pause where it feels like time has stopped entirely and Vera swears when she looks wide-eyed back at the clock behind her the minute hand has ceased ticking.
Wocky is dead silent. So quiet Vera checks to see if he’d hung up on her, but no, the call time is still steadily climbing upwards.
“…What did you just say?” Vera asks softly, worried she misheard.in which wocky kitaki accidentally tells vera misham he loves her, and has to face what that might mean

But you overestimate yourself Petey,” Wade was leaning down, bending Peter in half which was easy with his flexibility, and something Wade found extremely sexy— mind you. He captured Peter’s lips in a hot kiss, biting his lip before he pulled back an inch.
“I could do this for hours, baby boy. You were exhausting yourself not even an hour into what you started. You shouldn’t start things you can’t finish, baby, because now I have to finish it for you.” He told him, scolding, a grin pulling at his lips at the horrified realization that overcame Peter as he listened to him.

Peter Parker is not typically one to rebel against someone with a firearm in his civvies, but when it comes down to spite and caffeine, he's going to be the one winning the grand prize of pettiest coffee customer.
OR
Peter takes on the persona of resident espresso chugging mystery, sacrifices Tim Drake's drink for the greater good, and causes some well-deserved late night chaos.

Or: Deadpool's hired to kill Peter Parker, former CEO of the now bankrupt Parker Industries, and Wade decides he better ask his trusted superhero crush Spider-Man—and Parker's former bodyguard—if his ex-boss really deserves a katana to the chest.
Things are much more complicated.
Spider-Man wanted to say something and make sure that corny line wouldn’t be the last one he heard, but his whole body felt like a bruise being pressed down. The man was opening his mouth to let out something evil and abnormally personal against Spider-Man, when a voice came down the dark alley.
“But the record keeps playing the same old song.” Spider-Man and the bad guy turned their heads to the mouth of the alley. They couldn’t see anyone, but the male voice sang on. “They say aha, aha. Keep your hands off my girl.”
Peter’s head thumped against the wall. “No. Just… no. Do me a favor, just crush my windpipe."

Hey, for the record? One hundredpercent his fault. Over the past, say, three hours, Peter has just been lying here, tied up like a pig for slaughter while Wade has been flitting in and out of the room – whistling while he does chores around the apartment, watching TV show reruns, picking at leftovers. Anything that strikes his fancy he lets become a distraction, all while Peter stays right in the bed, listening and waiting and growing desperate. At a low enough setting, Peter could stay powered on, just like this, for days on end. Growing overstimulated and needy on the feeling of being wrapped up in his own insides.

Joel Miller’s routine hasn‘t changed greatly in four years.
He goes to work, mostly overseeing construction, he goes home and eats something microwavable, drinks a few cans of cheap beer and falls into bed half drunk and exhausted from a days work, desperate to feel as little as possible.
Then, most nights, the nightmares he tries to chase away with alcohol succeed in waking him anyway, so he takes some sleeping pills to fall into dull, dreamless darkness, only to be woken by the sound of his alarm.So, really, he could use a change.
He still fights it like a feral cat.
