Peter wanted to ask, Neal could tell without even looking at him. He wanted to dig in right then and there, but someone called for him from the entrance of the church before he could, and then one of the local officers was sticking his head around the corner to wave him over and there was nothing he could do.
When Peter glanced back Neal was standing up straight, brushing his hair from his face, already trying to pretend none of it ever happened.
Neal had thought Peter would let it go.
