Summary
The nature of armed forces had a funny way of splitting you off from what should be your equals, and that was something you just had to deal with. Not everyone is ready to be all buddy-buddy with rookies, and a rookie you certainly were at the time of your scouting.
Interactions with Ghost were kept short and sweet (only with a little less of the sweet) and you didn’t mind that. It kept things simple, it kept your relationship with him simple.

Tommy may seem harmless at first glance, but Phil and Techno know otherwise. To be a gemsmith, a person who connects soulmates, is not a profession for those who are docile.
But Tommy is intriguing at first glance. Always talking, always moving, always challenging them. So they stick around. Not too long though, they have two other soulmates to find, but long enough to develop their relationship beyond customer and shopkeeper.
If only they realized why they were developing this relationship in the first place before the Hunters came knocking on Tommy’s shop.

He fumbled with his binder as he took it, eyes wide as he said, “are you sure? I mean, I love poetry and all, but I don’t think-I’m not sure—what if I can’t write poetry?”
Mr. Sam’s dark eyes softened, and he reached out to place a hand on Tommy’s shoulder, squeezing it gently. “Everyone has to start somewhere; every poet, from me to Rudy Francisco, started off without knowing a clue about what we were doing.
