Caitlyn talked her out of cancelling her jobs over dinner one night in July, with a cute scowl on Vi’s face and a defiant edge to her pushing pasta around on her plate.
“It’s not for that long,” Caitlyn said, “I can hold out a week.”
“It’s fucking stupid, is what it is,” Vi replied, “I can’t believe they’d send you. They know why you needed time off.”
