Summary
To say it had been a shock to see Phoenix across the courtroom from him that first time would be an understatement. Phoenix was an old, warm memory gone cold with time and von Karma’s influence. But facing that nervous smile, that brightly determined gaze, had cleared some of the fog. It had forced him to remember that sunlight existed. To realize it lived in too-kind eyes.
The gaze Phoenix fixes him with now is as dark and unsettling as a day that begins without dawn.
While Miles has been making his slow way to spring, Phoenix has fallen into winter.

Summary
After all they've been through, it's strange that something so important could be so simple, but for Miles and Phoenix, falling in love, at least, doesn't have to be the end of the world.
Some stress relief fluff that I wrote purely to cheer myself up - there is literally negative plot but there is a lot of lawyers falling into the bright and bitter kind of love that can only come from a lifetime of belligerent teamwork.
(The anxiety tag just refers to Edgeworth's reaction to earthquakes and mentions of a psychologist, btw)

Summary
Phoenix harbours no illusions that getting his badge back is going to be an easy task, even if the hardest part of clearing his name is technically over. He's fully aware that his reinstatement is going to be a bit more complicated than just passing the bar and is going to be more of a case of:
Step 1: Save money to retake bar exam
Step 2: Study frantically to pass said bar exam
Step 3: Pass bar exam
Step 4: Hope and pray that he'll somehow be able to still pull in clients after his reputation got burned to the ground
Step 5: Haircut
Step 6: New suit
Step 7: Finally, finally confess his passionate love for Edgeworth that has been eating him up inside for the past 25 years
Step 8: ???? Lawyer???Thankfully he has a pretty solid support network of people willing to help him out. And if Edgeworth has anything to say about it, they'll probably be able to cut out a few of those steps along the way.
Which is why Phoenix promises himself one thing. If he passes the bar again, he is absolutely going to kiss the Chief Prosecutor square on the lips. Whatever happens after that, they'll just have to wait and see.

Hats were on their heads and scarves were bundled around their necks, so all was good there.
Jackets were buttoned. Cheeks were rosy.
Trucy was standing with gloves too large for her and Miles' hands were strikingly bare.

Phoenix quirked an eyebrow. “With an air-fryer we don’t need?”
Miles hummed, “And crystalline champagne glasses. Those are a must.”

Honestly, this fic is in my top 3.
The characters, the way they are characterised, that they feel, their interactions... Never read a fic like with this take. It feels new, innovative while still keeping the Phoenix' and Miles' essence from the first trilogy. -

Summary
He’s about to leave the desk when a piece of paper catches his eye. It’s clearly a ticket and, ever curious, Phoenix shifts the envelope obscuring it.
He’s pretty sure he feels his heart stop for at least two seconds.
There is a one-way plane ticket to Germany on Miles Edgeworth’s desk. Phoenix is almost surprised there’s no fake suicide note attached to it.
“I know my pen collection is extensive, but I assumed even you wouldn’t have too much difficulty choosing one, Wright. Do you need my assistance?” Miles’s voice breaks through the dread and panic coiling in the pit of Phoenix’s stomach.
Miles is leaving.

“You’re in love with me,” Phoenix accuses, index finger pointing and arm outstretched. Pink colors Miles’ high cheekbones. Perhaps there was a better way he could have phrased that, but Phoenix had just been working on his instincts. And his instinct with new, life altering information is, as always, to point, shout, and make a fool of himself.
Miles, however, does not follow the script. He does not look like the villains on the witness stand, finally trapped. There is no ‘Graaagh!’ or ‘Ngoooh!’ There isn’t even a ‘Gurgk…’
Instead, Miles is as placid as ever. “Yes,” he says, drawing out the 'e'. He has a tone of voice that implies that this is an obvious statement. “You know this, Phoenix,” he adds.
A.K.A They're stupid, but they finally manage to get together, and then they get together.

Klavier? Was something wrong? Apollo couldn’t ignore that this wasn’t sitting right with him already.
“Uh, yeah, what about him? Is something wrong?”
“That’s the problem; I’m not entirely sure. See, he just handed in a letter of resignation that is effective immediately.”

Summary
It wasn't a secret at this point, anyone with eyes could tell the change in his demeanor when he first started seeing this mystery person. Maybe it was a good thing no one knew the identity of this special someone he saw every Friday, after all, Phoenix had no idea who he really was as well. He couldn't physically describe this man, nor could he give his real name to anyone that asked, but Phoenix couldn't complain. This man was filling an Edgeworth-shaped hole in his heart.

Between deep desire and mild embarrassment, Phoenix’s face flooded with heat. He shifted a bit in place, before a reflexive hand found the back of his neck.
“Yeah. Sorry. I just...uh...Can I ask you something?”
“Of course,” Miles said without hesitation.
But Phoenix paused in turn. He looked off to the side, but could feel grey eyes on him, gentle yet expectant. Before the anxious tension could peak, and before the salacious tension could wane, he forced himself to speak once more.
“Would you...mind if we tried something different tonight?”
After sticking to a routine in the bedroom, Phoenix and Miles decide to change things around. Despite the initial hesitance, the initial apprehension, they meld together far better than expected.
