Dongsik looks up at him, his smile perched just at the corner of his mouth. “Try not to think so loud, Juwon-ah,” he says. “You’re off duty, you know?”

Dongsik barked a laugh. “This brat. Just you wait—in another decade I’ll be senile and you won’t have the heart to make jokes like that anymore.”
“Fifty-three is not senile,” Joowon pointed out.
Joowon returns to Manyang to stay.

Hans would bolt the doors, Hans would guide him back to bed, Hans would follow him if he did manage to get out. He'd even noticed that it tended to happen around the same time every night and would push him awake right beforehand—that tended to stop it in its tracks. Henry always roomed with Hans; the young lord insisted upon it, wryly reminding their travelling companions that he was his personal bodyguard and so of course he ought to stay close.
Now he was alone, and he had no idea what to do.

That young Skywalker is known around town as a widower and homesteader; a Nabooian who emigrated to avoid the trade blockade; a father of overly-energetic twins and warding a Togruta war orphan; a decent mechanic if your farm equipment or maintenance droid is acting up.
Anakin is a paranoid, over-protective hot mess doing his best to raise his weird pack the way Padmé would have wanted. How the hell is he supposed to do that when his kids and not-apprentice make him haul a half-dead Jedi Master home like a lost pet?

Their eyes meeting across the top of the present. A charged, knowing moment passing between them. And then, later, Wriothesley might pull Neuvillette aside, might confess to him that his heart is too full in the way the Neuvillette’s is, and Neuvillette might, at last, have someone to love and be loved by on the Solstice.
How wonderful that might be.
What a shame it must remain a fantasy.
Neuvillette finds himself trapped in a time loop on the eve of the midwinter solstice.
