His eyes flashed menacingly. “Not Kylo,” he murmured, voice low and lips feathering her skin as he spoke. A trail of goosebumps prickled wherever his warm breath ghosted across.
“I’m your Supreme Leader now,” he reminded her, growling dangerously. He pressed into her space, crowding her against the wall even further. A hot, red blush was creeping up her neck now and on to her cheeks. She was blushing. Why was she blushing?
“Yes… Supreme Leader,” she whispered breathily, pretty pink lips parting for her tongue to dart out and moisten them. A heady fire still burned in her eyes as her bottom lip caught on her teeth and her chin jutted out defiantly.
His breath stuttered raggedly at her words. They were so close. Too close. He could feel the shiver as it vibrated through her body and then —
She bowed her head. Bowed, as if in submission, so very uncharacteristic of the fiery woman he had grown to know.
He frowned, blinking.
Seeing her like this wasn’t right, wasn't her. How many nights had he imagined drowning in her, bodies tangling in a delicate cacophony? He wanted her, this much he knew now. All of her.
But not like this. Never like this.

Her voice was weak, anxiety and dread flooding her shaky syllables. “If—if he’s dead, the curse… it can’t possibly live on…” Her heart thudded too quickly. Her limbs felt numb.
Malfoy's silver eyes danced between her own as his glare briefly flickered, as if in sympathy. He frowned at her. Hermione waited—waited—for him to explain she’d misunderstood, that she was right—a curse could not outlast its caster.
But in one small motion, the minute shake of his head, any of Hermione’s remaining glass fortitude exploded. The precarious fractures of glass gave way to an exodus of shards, icy tendrils following in their wake and drowning her in icy-cold horror.
