Derek stares down at the apparent first words his soulmate will speak to him as they etch across his wrist. It doesn’t hurt as much as he’s been told. At least not the mark itself, but the words… Those hurt. As a werewolf, he’s naturally blessed with a muscular physique and he’s been called attractive enough times that he’s never really been self-conscious. Looking at the words though, he wonders why they seem so…snarky? Like he’s not good enough.

His face scrunches in confusion before realization dawns on him.
Oh shit.
Events from the night before peek through the hazy fog of his mind. Stiles thought, or he was hoping, that the phone call was a dream. But there it is, staring at him in the face—a one minute and 57-second call to an unfamiliar number.
Oh God.
Did he seriously call someone—possibly an alpha werewolf!—for phone sex?
...Or the one where Stiles drunk dials a very grumpy alpha werewolf and propositions him for phone sex. Hilarity, misunderstandings, and feelings ensue.

Talia's iron clad control over the pack chafes him. He can't explain why, but it feels like his world shifts. Pack members he's grown up with suddenly leave with barely an explanation, without a goodbye. His parents' deaths, something that occurred over five years ago, suddenly feel raw, everything after their passing he remembers feeling stilted and wrong.

Summary
Stiles has known what he is since birth (and before, really), though his father doesn't. He thinks his mother suspected, had an idea that her son wasn't really her son. She was perceptive that way, and Stiles wonders if she maybe had a touch of magic. He thinks that's why when her disease seized her, she screamed that he was evil, that he was trying to kill her. That he wasn't really hers. Everyone had chalked it up to the dementia getting worse, but Stiles wonders how much of it was her being unable to contain her suspicions and letting them run wild. Once Claudia dies, Stiles is truly the only one who knows he's other. That is, until Peter.

Summary
Contrary to what most people who knew him for even just three seconds would think, Peter didn’t directly seek out a vulnerable Alpha to take the power from… It had been different at home, with the land so close and begging him to stake a claim. Out in the world he was a vagabond with no ties to anyone or anything, and he enjoyed the drifting.
But he would have lied if he said he didn’t act on the opportunity when it finally presented itself on a cold, misty Paris night.
Feeling the spark of it course through his veins and settle in his chest again was like… like waking up from a coma. Everything was more vibrant, more real all of a sudden.
For a second he was almost - uncharacteristically - afraid that, like before, he wouldn’t be able to control it, going out of his mind with too much, too soon, too… everything. But after the first few minutes of mind-blowing, overwhelming power clouding his mind he was able to reign it in.
It still left his eyes burning red, his mouth tasting like blood and his heart wishing for home.

All we know of the end is that Peter is likely to be killed by hunters and Stiles running away barely alive (not a spoiler, it’s the first part of the first chapter).
