“H-hello?” Even with his best attempts at steadying his voice it still sounded shaky and he silently cursed himself as he stuttered out his greeting.
“Yes, hello. Is this Kim Taehyung? Father of Kim Yeonjun?” The voice was much deeper than he expected. Actually, he didn’t really expect it to be a male at all.
“Yes, that’s me.”
“Well, I’m Yeonjun's teacher and I’m sorry to bother you when you are most likely busy with work, but I need you to come in immediately.” The man's voice was so serious it scared him. Him. A centuries-old, immortal supernatural being. Oh, the woes of being a parent.
“Um, might I ask what happened?” He hated how small he sounded, the way his voice wavered. He knew he should have waited longer to enroll Yeonjun in school; he was still too young to completely and discreetly control his urges, even with the suppressants.
“He bit another student.” His blood went cold. Well, colder than it already was, being a vampire and all.
