“No!” Sirius smacked the plastic cup filled with stale cereal out of his punished human’s hand. He responded a touch more dramatically this time to Sirius’ sudden physical appearance, though it was mostly due to the fact that his food now covered the floor. “Eat some real food and go to sleep!” Sirius’ skin prickled with a thousand fiery needles—release, release, release.
“My Cheerios,” his punished human mumbled, eyes glued to the ground forlornly.
“How can you even be functioning on this little sleep?” Sirius’ voice pitched higher and higher as he spoke. He wondered if he was capable of yanking his fake human hair out.

"He tore his gaze away from the side of Regulus face and looked down to the textbook open in front of them. Half the page was taken up with an illustration of a navy-blue poison dart frog, it’s little mouth turned down and it’s eyes large and cross-looking. Grumpy little thing. For a few seconds, he looked between the frog on the page and the boy in front of him, and then began to laugh."
When Sirius finally rescues Regulus from their parents and brings him back to the Potters, James discovers he has a unique problem. See, he always thought Regulus was pretty, but after he convinces Regulus to start tutoring him in potions (James is already pretty good at potions, but don't tell Reg that), an aesthetic appreciation turns into genuine infatuation.
But with the relationship between the Black brothers as tender as it is, James knows he cannot act on it, and his little crush must avoid detection at all costs.

After everything is set up, he starts mixing up the batter. Regulus must have woken up at some point, since James’ concentration is broken by a metallic *clang* on the floor. He turns around to see Regulus sitting on the table near the edge and one of the metallic measuring cups that was half full of flour all over the floor.
”Really Reg? Really?” James looks at him disappointed.
Regulus has the most smug look a cat can have after doing something they're not supposed to.
It’s all downhill from there.
Regulus can be a real pain in the ass when not in the mood for people. James’ little calm baking time turned into a real cat-astrophe.

James is woken up by a paw slap and he later tries making a cake while Regulus is being a little shit as a cat.
Regulus as a grumpy cat, towel burrito cat, a drenched cat and in need of a hug all included in the meal with a side of partially burned chocolate cake and some feelings.

Albus hums, settling back into his seat.
She continues watching as James reaches over, swiping a slice of half-eaten toast from Regulus’ plate and taking a grossly large bite out of it.
Regulus, true to his nature, swats James over the head and then proceeds to lean closer to the older boy in order to readjust his tie. James lets him, as if this is a practiced thing between them – perhaps it is. And, when Regulus then steals his breakfast back from the boy, James moves to plant a kiss to the poor Slytherin’s cheek.
“How long has that been going on?” Albus suddenly pipes up again, speaking around a mouthful of toast because, whilst he may be the Headmaster, he has no shame.
Minerva scoffs at him, something that goes either unnoticed or ignored by her friend. “How should I know, Albus?”
He shrugs. “You have your ways.”

That stops tonight.
With some help from the devil on his shoulder — namely Barty Crouch Jr. — Regulus has devised a plan to put Potter back in his place. If he plays his cards right, he won’t be the one squirming this time.

“Serious,” the man replied. “Like the star,” he clarified, and Remus mentally scratched out 'Serious' and rewrote 'Sirius' in his head.
“The… star?” Marlene asked, her pen hovering over the cup as she hesitated.
“S-I-R-I-U-S,” Remus said. He stocked croissants into the display case, not looking up. “The Dog Star,” he added, “brightest star in the sky, actually. Visible from both hemispheres.” When he looked over, the man– Sirius– seemed surprised, his eyebrows raised as Remus spoke, and when Remus finished, he blinked a few times before smiling lopsidedly.
“Er– yeah,” he breathed a laugh. “That.” There was a baby on his hip. Somehow, it had taken Remus a second glance to notice that.
