Summary
“Comfort is your greatest enemy,” Chenle has heard that line many times in his life– from his parents, his sibling, and even his teachers. It was something that they had told him repeatedly in the past.
But what if comfort isn’t Chenle’s greatest enemy? What if for him comfort is a person? A person who offers a safe space for him to be his true self? A person who reassures him that he’s valuable and worthy of love? Would he still see comfort as his greatest enemy?
Chenle pondered on this on nights when he’d stay awake, he’d start off thinking about just anything, but Chenle would always end up reflecting on whether he should heed the advice of the people around him and hop out of his comfort zone.
But on those nights when he’d have those thoughts, a warm hand would eventually make way on his torso, embracing him tightly and holding onto him as if reminding him that he did not find comfort in a box or in the things that he does, but instead, Chenle found solace in a person.
This is one of those nights when Jisung would wrap his hands around Chenle and incoherently tell him to sleep and Chenle would willingly obey and rest his mind for the day.
