Summary
Simon and Wilhelm have been best friends for as long as they can remember, sharing a home and a bond that’s always felt unbreakable. “You’re quite on time Mr. Eriksson. We’re still waiting for the other parent to arrive,” the headmistress says.
Simon turns his attention to the other kid in the room. She has long golden-brown hair and something about the girl’s eyes are familiar, honey brown, though he’s sure he has never met her before.
There's a knock on the door and a security officer surveys the room before the last person Simon ever expected to see walks in and crouches down beside the other girl, cupping her face and asking if she’s okay
Alba turns around in her chair to look at him. “I’m so sorry Dad. I didn’t mean for this to happen.”
Simon’s eyes are stuck in a vortex of flickering to the man that just walked in and then to the girl he’s comforting and then to his own daughter. He has a very bad feeling about this.
“Ah, Crown Prince Wilhelm, thank you for being here, Sir.” Ms. Perky greets the royal.
Wilhelm gets up and moves to stand behind the girl. Simon’s eyes meet Wille’s and suddenly he doesn’t remember how to breathe.
“This is Alba’s father, Mr. Erik-”
“Simon?”

“Wow, no emoji. So businesslike.” Rosh is so mean to him.
Simon groans. “It’s really hard! What am I supposed to say? Hey, remember how we had one last night together and we said goodbye and I never gave you a birthday present and then the school closed? Well. Can you pretend the breaking up part didn’t happen to get some assholes off my back?”
“Maybe the difficulty of writing the message should clue you in to the badness of the plan,” Rosh argues.

Wilhelm stepped onto the pool deck and gasped, his mouth falling open in shock.
The most beautiful boy he’d ever seen was standing there in the shallow end, playing and singing with a group of preschoolers who were giggling and shrieking delightedly. A mess of damp curls flopped across the boy’s forehead, brown eyes sparkling and a grin stretched across his face as he sang. As Wilhelm watched, the boy lifted a blonde haired toddler in the air, tossing her up and catching her as the little girl giggled. Wilhelm tried very hard not to focus on the way the muscles in the boy’s arms flexed as he lifted the girl effortlessly. A second later he forgot it entirely when the boy stood up to his full height, displaying his toned chest, rivulets of water sluicing down his tan skin and lightly defined abs. Wilhelm’s mouth went dry.

“Well?” The boy shakes him slightly, fear and slight anger in his eyes, “do you?”
“I-I don’t know.”
One thing is for sure- this boy certainly does not have a death wish. Everything about him is fighting desperately for life, from the brightness of his eyes, to the weight of the schoolwork in his single strapped backpack, to the slight bruise on his wrist. Simon’s heading to their place right now, unsuspecting and already giddy to see Wille.
He’s not sure what he expected when he got there, but it certainly wasn’t a singular desk and chair centered in the room in front of the board, all the other furniture pushed to the side, Wilhelm standing next to a ready-to-go power point presentation.
Wille closes his eyes for a second and breathes deeply, “Welcome! Simon,” he motions a hand through the air, taking a step towards Simon, “I am here to ask for ten minutes of your time, or maybe fifteen. You see, I brought you here to bring a very important thing, at least to me, to light.”
