Summary
When Wille is thinking, he is overthinking. Currently, he's thinking a lot about the fact that he said the words "I'm a giant fucking homophobe", didn't give enough context, and now, apparently, Simon is gay? Yeah, it's a lot. So of course overthinking leads to panic. But at least he can call Erik to gently make fun of him until he can breathe again.

Summary
Sweet, lovely, persuasive little thing. Wilhelm felt intoxicated every time he so much as thought of him. His mouth ached with the need to say Simon’s name, his lips burned with the memories, and his heart twisted with a tenderness that made him feel almost fragile.
He could only pray it was a temporary madness that would fade with time, because he knew too well that nothing could come of it, not really. Still, he was certain he'd never felt this way before. And he was careful in his assessment, too: he’d always rolled his eyes at the characters on TV shows who whispered, lovesick and doe-eyed, “I have never felt this way about anyone ever.”
Wilhelm is caught in a consuming infatuation with someone who can never truly be his. Struggling to reconcile his feelings, he tries to ignore the longing, but it lingers, a constant ache beneath the surface. Meanwhile, Simon is overwhelmed by the burdens of his work and the unresolved ghosts of his past, leaving little room for anything else. As he navigates his tangled emotions, love seems like the last thing on his mind — until, perhaps, it isn’t.

“Oh, I’m sorry, are we supposed to just let them dictate our entire lives because they permitted us to get married? And let me tell you, unless the world changes drastically, we’ll never be conventional enough. I was comfortable knowing I’d have to fight them, but I didn’t sign up to fight you too.” Simon undid his seatbelt and opened his door.
“Simon, we have to go!” Wille called out before leaning back in his seat, frustrated as he watched Simon climb out of the car and Wille started to unbuckle his seatbelt to follow him. He had just heard the click when he heard Karl cry out.
“Your Highness!”

(Or, Wilhelm and Simon stayed together for the rest of their time at Hillerska but ended up splitting up after their first year at University. Now, it's years later, and after an argument, Simon slips on the ice, waking up to find out that he and Wille have been married for a year and a half, but he can't remember how they made it back to each other.)

It is Simon's worst nightmare, Wilhelm is a new addition to the school but he has quickly adjusted to being precisely like Simon's internal enemy, August. The two clash when Simon refuses to put the prince on a pedestal. When an interaction goes to far, the two are forced to be in close proximity to one another and a peculiar, undefined relationship between the two boys.
