“But I thought the whole idea was that God didn’t make mistakes?” Simon’s voice challenged him, his hand lifting Wille’s head to allow their eyes to meet, eyes watery, begging, pleading with him not to do what they both knew he was trying to.
“My parents certainly seem to think he made one with me,” Wille instinctively leaned into Simon’s touch, the tears still trickling down his cheeks wiped away by Simon’s thumb.
Simon hummed softly, “They’re wrong then,” he pressed a kiss to Wille’s hand, reciting what Wille distantly recognized as a verse from Song of Solomon, “You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you,” his voice dropped to almost a whisper, “You’re not a mistake, Wille.”

There was no room for queerness in the version of Wille’s life that his parents had demanded from him. The contract he had signed, agreeing to deny his sexuality, chained him to their faith - to their ideals of religion. Wille, who looked like he was either about to speak or pass out inhaled sharply, eyes wide and blown with lust. Simon cleared his throat pointedly, barely suppressing his grin.
“Uh -” Wille elegantly stuttered out. “What?”
Simon tilted his head to the side, keeping his eyes on Wille. “How was your morning?”
Wille nodded dazedly. “Good, yeah. Good. I-” he blinked rapidly, shaking his head. “I’m awake right now, right?”
Simon grinned, pushing off the counter and sauntered over to his boyfriend. “Yes, baby you are.” He held out his hands, spinning in a slow circle when he was a few steps away from Wille. “So, what do you think of my costume for today’s scene?”

Summary
There are many words Simon would use to describe Wilhelm. “Arrogant,” “spoiled,” and “a prissy prince” to name a few. Likewise, Wilhelm thinks he has Simon accurately labeled as an attention-seeking asshat who never shuts his loud mouth. Their disdain for each other seems to know no bounds, until the two wake up in one bed after a house party which causes a surge in their friends’ pre-existing notion that Simon and Wilhelm’s hatred for each other is just poorly veiled lust.
Eventually it all becomes too much for either of them to handle, leading to Simon and Wilhelm agreeing to fake date long enough to end their “relationship” in a massive staged fight which will finally get their friends off of their backs once and for all. But the more time they spend together, the more their plan begins to fall apart, and they realize that falling for your enemy isn’t as impossible as it seems.
TLDR: An enemies to lovers & fake dating story, with focuses on Simon’s struggle to keep his family afloat despite his father’s abuse and addiction, and Wille’s trauma and anxiety from childhood to adulthood, heavily based on the book “They Hate Each Other” by Amanda Woody

He doesn’t even know if Wilhelm recognized him — for all he knows he has moved on, too, and forgotten all about what happened between them. At least that’s what Simon hopes, in a way. “That makes two of us, then.”
They smile at each other, air crackling with unspoken things that weigh heavy on the tip of his tongue. Simon bites his lips and his eyes wander down Wille’s chest for a second before sprinting back up and locking into his. Wille holds the heavy eye contact, trying to control his breathing when Simon’s smile turns into a knowing grin.
And that’s half the reason he hasn’t been able to stop thinking about him. Because he’d been catching Simon looking right back, too, all summer long. It feels like when they’re standing opposite each other on the court, laser focus, seeing right through him in a way only someone that knows him so well could. He catches his eyes on him at the most random times—when they’re out eating fries and milkshakes, or when Simon wakes him up when he sleeps over and his eyes linger on Wille’s chest, when they’re tipsy and dangerously clingy and Wille feels drunk on so much more than any amount of alcohol has ever done to him.
or, Simon and Wilhelm are friends. Then they have sex, fall in love, play tennis and ruin each other's lives. In no particular order.
