Summary
From time to time, they all struggle with remembering how to shed their idol persona—it becomes too tangled with their personalities, too deeply ingrained into their core. It's easy to forget who they are outside their job. Who V of BTS is behind the scenes. Who Taehyung is. The lines blur together and boundaries slip. Importance is instead placed on these masks, but sometimes masks slip. Masks crack. Taehyung's always heard the phrase be yourself, and he's never really understood how crucial that is until he's forced to watch Jungkook's mask crumble, piece by piece.

"Yeah, but..." Taehyung trails off. The words are on the tip of his tongue, but he doesn't want to say them out loud because saying them aloud makes them real. He hesitates, but Jungkook remains patient with him, rubs his arm. "...It feels like he doesn't understand me anymore," he finishes in a small voice. "It feels like no one understands me."
Where Taehyung feels boring; this new mature version of himself isn't all that it's cracked out to be.
