When Riyo had found out that Zanka had a boyfriend, she'd done her best to be supportive.
She just didn't expect the guy to end up being Jabber fucking Wonger.
At least she wasn't the only one caught off guard. After some negotiations, Zanka is grounded, forbidden from seeing Jabber for a whole month. Which goes about as well as one would expect it too. Meaning that it'd failed horribly.
But that was the least of Riyo's worries. Really, her main concern was figuring out how to handle this whole thing- what she was supposed to do, how she was supposed to react, she had nothing. She was missing way too much information, and it was really starting to bug her. For one, she has no idea what Jabber's actual intentions are with all this. And how could she know, when there seemed to be such a big gap between the Jabber she knew of and the one that Zanka apparently knew?
So when Jabber randomly shows up at her window, asking for advice, Riyo sees it for the golden opportunity that it is.
She'd get her information, keeping her guard up the whole time, and be right back where she wanted to be. Easy.
(Spoiler Alert: It ends up being a bit more complicated than that.)

Ace says blankly, “I’m his favorite?” Well, Ace guesses, it does make sense – Luffy doesn’t really have anyone else that stays with him. Garp’s never here, Dadan doesn’t really care about them, or at least not enough to stay around them all the time, and Makino- well. She’s amazing, but she can’t be there all the time. Still, though- “Why?”
This time, Garp turns around fully to look at Ace. “Why?” He asks incredulously. “You’re his brother and he loves you, duh.”
Ace’s brain stalls.

I made this post on tumblr and decided to write a little fic about it:
I just love the idea of someone asking Luffy what he’s gonna do after he finds the One Piece, maybe even asking if he would marry one of the beautiful women (including multiple princesses) who are after him and settle down. Luffy just grins really big and says “I’m gonna marry Zoro and we can adventure together forever!”. Everyone is shocked, including Zoro since this is the first he’s heard of this
