Kaveh sighs again, and this time his features knit together and he squeezes his eyes shut. “Can you stop being clinical for two minutes and hear what I’m actually asking you?”
“I am listening.” It’s true. “And I do understand.”
“Do you, now?”
“I do.”
Kaveh pinches the bridge of his nose. The frustration there isn’t feigned or overblown—it’s real, deep in the lines of his face and the tension drawing his shoulders. “I’d want you to be here,” he says again, but quieter.
“I will be here,” Alhaitham answers. “And it’ll be with the cure.”
When an expedition gone wrong leaves Kaveh with three days to live, Alhaitham and Cyno fight to find the cure while Tighnari fights to buy them time.

He stops when he spots the aqua tattoo peeking out from the person’s top. Another rests innocently on the other’s thigh.
Xiao instantly pales. Wait. That white hood behind the person’s head—the very same one that Rex Lapis wears. He’s–
“Lord Barbatos,” Xiao whispers, quickly dropping his spear as he kneels onto one knee.
So maybe Xiao has (unintentionally) insulted the Anemo Archon. What's the worst that could happen?

"Unfortunately, that was only part of my scheme. I would explain the rest, but you understand how risky doing so would be. Therefore, I wished to gather all the Archons together to discuss it."
"So, you want me to join your revolution?"
After witnessing the tyranny of the Heavenly Principles, the Tsaritsa plans to overthrow Celestia and bring a new order to Teyvat. She unites her fellow Archons, including a very reluctant Venti. Little did he know by joining their revolution, he would unwittingly set in motion an ancient plot that he is at the center of.

“So, these scars haven’t really faded.” Aether is saying, lifting his shirt a bit to show the warping of his skin. “They’re kind of ugly, I guess. But it’s not like I can hide them forever.”
He almost drops his shirt back down, embarrassment staining his cheeks rosy, when Xiao reaches out. His hand, usually gloved, is bare when he presses the pads of his fingers against the scar nearest Aether’s belly button. He doesn’t push hard but he does keep his fingers there, roaming a bit to follow the frayed line in each direction.
Aether’s breath catches in his throat at the touch and when Xiao hears it, he meets his eye. His forehead is creased with the furrow of his brows, his lips pulled down in a deep frown.
“I could have been there.” He says. “I’d hear you call my name even across the ocean-"

To Xiao, Barbatos was the embodiment of everything he was not: happy, free, fully confident in who he was. His music made the shadows in Xiao’s head retreat. They were all about living life to the fullest, having hope when the world was turned against you, and having fun (something that was almost entirely foreign to Xiao).
And now he was going to have to give away all his albums, delete Barbatos’ songs off his phone, and never listen to his music again. Just looking at the albums lined up on the shelf made Xiao cringe. He’d thought that if he ever did get a chance to meet his idol, it would be in a controlled space. He would have said something normal, like, Your music means a lot to me. Then he would’ve shaken Barbatos’ hand, gotten an autograph, and lived out the rest of his life in peace.
Xiao’s idol had watched him punch a guy in the stomach.
Since Zhongli's early retirement, Xiao's life has been aimless. But a chance encounter sets him on a new and uncharted path.

Aether paused. Never in a million years did he think that the morally complicated puppet before him would ever offer such a seemingly harmless invitation. Aether knew that, if he had any inch of common sense left, he should be suspicious of whatever nefarious scheme that the Wanderer may be plotting. And yet, something stirring deep within him, perhaps curiosity, or maybe just the fact that being in the Wanderer’s dream meant reprieve from the torture that was his own, urged him to plop down in the sand after only a moment’s hesitation.
