By the time they arrive at the inn, it’s been dark for several hours, and the rain has well and truly soaked them to the bone. The place is run-down, and the only room left has a leak in the ceiling, but it’s the first town they’ve passed in days - and sleeping under the stars is quickly losing its appeal the closer the winter months start to draw in. Besides, it’ll only be for a few nights - before long it’ll be time for them to find somewhere to spend the full moon.

It's supposed to be her first night off all week, but Fran Crozier rings up with her undies in a twist because the Holy Ghost Girls are the biggest band they've booked in years and their support act are stranded on the side of the M4 and Morfin's having one of his migraines so they're in desperate need of a sound tech.

Sol's not opposed to having girls in his flat - he can't say there's been any since Hickey took up residence on his couch (and occasionally in his bed), but he wouldn't say no if the opportunity presented itself.

And so it is as, perhaps, a friend with similarly queer predilections—and therefore as an ally—that I ask: are you and this John Irving terribly intimate with one another?”
“I’m quite sure I don’t know what you mean,” George returns, blushing madly.
“You know, sir, precisely what I mean,” Jopson answers. “You are among sympathetic friends.”
George shakes his head. “I do not believe—he is terribly opposed, you see, to such things. My little chaste monk. I call him that, even, and threaten to cut his hair into a tonsure some night while he sleeps. He does not find this terribly funny.” He picks up a vol-au-vent and blows on it, suddenly feeling quite melancholy. “He does not find many things terribly funny.”
