Summary
Really, with all his reading about transmigration stories, Shen Yuan distinctly felt he had been dealt a particularly bad hand. Not only was he trapped masquerading as someone with one of the more gruesome deaths in the novel, no—that person was still stuck with him, undoing all of Shen Yuan’s efforts to smooth over the villainous behaviour. It was maddening, and he could feel matched resentment radiating from the other person inside his head, signalling the arrival of a headache in the near future.
Shen Jiu and Shen Yuan end up having to share a body when the latter transmigrates, with Shen Yuan being in charge during the day and Shen Jiu during the night. The system still exists, to both their chagrin, and they have to work together to achieve a happy ending for the both of them.

She held her head up high as the sea wind played with her hair, a lover’s touch—though not the lover she was missing. Her eyes scanned the horizon, the pale yellow light of early dawn glinting on the waves. Beside her, first mate Mobei-Jun was standing in stoic silence, while around them their crew was preparing to make land: they were slated to arrive at their home harbour by mid-morning.
In which Luo Binghe grows up on a lonely island, gains and loses a teacher, sails the seven seas to become a feared pirate, and, eventually, gets the girl—in that order.

Frank said that being nervous is fine, and Buck just said he's proud, and the only thought Eddie has in his head is that it's embarrassing he can't raise his head and say it like a man, so clearly, he's going to need to hang on to other people's words for the time being, someone who isn't his dad trying to explain the ways Eddie's allowed to inhabit the world.
He doesn't need to ask anyone's permission to be who he is. That's also a thing Frank said.
