Summary
Begins after the Sound and Sand Invasion.
Recently orphaned Sakura realizes the bridge between her teammates and captain is too strong to bear. With nothing keeping her in Konoha, she leaves them behind without looking back.
In other words, Sakura is the one to leave the village instead of Sasuke, and the rest of the world gets to deal with the aftermath.

Summary
Sakura took a minute to think back to this morning. Like pretty much every morning, they woke up intertwined with each other, and then got up, brushed their teeth next to each other in the small bathroom. Sakura went out to make something for breakfast while Shisui got dressed, made the bed, and laid out her outfit for the day. They ate together, and Sakura got dressed while Shisui did whatever dishes were laying around. After that, they got their gear, and headed to their respective workplaces, which happened to be right next to each other. Like every morning, Shisui pressed a kiss to her cheek and they seperated right in the middle of the hospital and administration building.
“Holy shit. I’ve been dating my best friend for like six years now!” Sakura blurted out, a hand coming up to cover her face quickly after.
