Summary
When the storm came, it was a surprise to everyone. Everyone except a handful of determined engineers and scientists who had predicted the end of the world. In the months preceding the apocalypse, unbeknownst to everyone but a select few, several coal-powered generators were secreted away, ready to protect the remaining members of the human race from the cold.
Now, the only people left are those who were in on the plan, or were lucky enough to stumble upon them.
Simon and his family are some of the lucky few.
But down in the depths of the coal mines, working for his life, Simon doesn't feel that lucky. Certainly not as lucky as the group known as The Society. All of whom seem not to need to earn their place here.
When one of the members of The Society approaches him one evening, Simon is less than polite. But Wille is persistent, and, when Simon's life takes a dire turn, he can no longer be as picky about what company he keeps. And perhaps he doesn't want to be either...

His breath stutters. “Wilhelm,” he insists, voice cracking.
“Wilhelm,” Simon repeats. The name feels unfamiliar on his tongue like it’s a foreign language. “I’m not going. We can stay another day.”
The sheer relief that floods Wilhelm’s face is almost painful to look at. His eyes soften, his shoulders drop, the tight line of his mouth trembles for a second before it steadies into a small smile, his cheeks turning pink.

Simon is the official university physical trainer, so his job is tough as he deals with many players who treat him like his job means nothing, but without him, they would get easily injured. The only player he can't stand is the captain.
Wilhelm is the captain of the largest university soccer team and is under a lot of pressure. He's done everything by himself and doesn't need help, as it's gotten him where he is today.
I think it's going to be heated rivalry themed as I just watched it, and I feel like it would be perfect for this story as it's enemies to lovers

Dark curls, sharp cheekbones, voice cutting through the noise like a blade. He’s good. Too good for this place. Some dick in the back snickers, muttering, “Louder, scholarship,” and Simon’s jaw tightens, but he keeps singing, louder, fiercer. Our eyes lock for a split second and I feel a jolt. But much to Wilhelm's surprise, Hillerska has more than crushing rules and constantly watching eyes. It has Simon. And Simon is someone that brash, rebellious, family-disappointment Wilhelm never could of dreamed up.
Disaster, of course, ensues.

The houses are in the same pack and don't ever cross paths, as they don't agree with each other.

Their eyes stayed locked on each other as they moved, way too slow for the beat of the song but Simon didn't care. Wille's eyes seemed as deep as the ocean and he couldn't tear his gaze away. Imperceptibly he inched closer and closer and now their chests were touching and he had to crane his neck to keep the eye contact.
Subconsciously he darted out his tongue to wet his lips. Were they dry? They felt a little dry. Oh god. Were they about to kiss? He had never kissed someone so quickly after meeting them. But he couldn't help but feel this insane pull making him want to do exactly that.
Wille's face moved closer. Simon's knees grew weak. And they were not the only body part.
