With the Warrior mysteriously absent after their fight in the Ghimlyt Dark, Elidibus grows restless. He wants to slay his opponent in single combat, and he does not care about Varis's concerns about optics, flowers, or anything else irrelevant to a great big battle that determines the fate of the star.
Elidibus wants information, and unfortunately Emet-selch is the only being capable of avoiding him.

Before her disappearance, Minfilia gave Urianger an assignment: learn everything he can about the white-cloaked ascian emissary, Elidibus. Being a rational young spy made entirely of survivor's guilt, Urianger decides the best way to do this is to be the most awkward honeypot in Eorzea.
Alternate summary: Elidibus wants to pet every hero and Urianger has sad little ears. Look at him; he's adorable. He needs to be convinced he wants scritches and Elidibus is simply the best at scritches for the little wols.
This is what happens when an ascian is the primal incarnation of being cringe.

I wrote most of it prior to the sequel announcement, and it's thoroughly noncompliant in all ways. Additionally, most of it was gleefully and thoroughly self-indulgent, and what I wanted was toxic relationships, disaster poly, and people with very large emotions they're going to handle terribly.

Shortly after delivering his stirring speech to the Crystarium’s people, Elidibus visits the Warrior’s private chambers while still in the guise of Ardbert. Between them thunders a storm of grief, hatred and revenge.
Loneliness reigns above all of these, and must be yielded to.
