Summary
The Fire Lord’s family was so rich. They had so much and Ty Lee could almost taste it in the air. These two children could’ve seemed almost normal as they sat for dinner if it wasn’t for the way they held themselves. The sister teased the brother and they completed each other and they shifted and smiled and joked.
They could’ve been just like everybody else if it wasn’t for the way everybody in town refused to meet their eyes. If it wasn’t for that posture that nobles had, that stiffness, that poise. The youngest daughter was her age, Ty Lee felt centuries older.
-
Ty Lee runs away from her hometown to the city, to the circus, then back again. She measures her odds and lies and falls in love. And she, eventually, gets what she wants.

Summary
Tim leaned forward and considered his taxi driver.
He was young, Tim’s age, with blond hair that was a little long but in a way that might’ve been purposeful or maybe just a little late for a haircut, with bright blue eyes. He had introduced himself as Bernard and asked where he was going and Tim had responded on autopilot.
“Do you think that gun shot was meant for you?” Bernard asked conversationally, adjusting the rearview mirror as he drove.
—
Or, three times Bernard Dowd drove Tim Drake somewhere and one time it was the opposite.

Summary
Richie had pointed it out first. “You're probably like Usain Bolt now,” she had said on the phone that winter. “With the—” She made one of her many horrible onomatopoeias for breasts being sliced off by a demonic alien clown's claw, then her sole horrible onomatopoeia for someone moving very fast. Eddie had rolled her eyes, of course, but she'd ended up returning to the thought. That was the case with many of the stupid things Richie said. Inexplicably, it did make Eddie feel better, which was also the case with many of the stupid things Richie said.

Eddie loses two parts of herself and gets a different one back.

Summary
The day you get the most important email of your life, there’s a new black skidmark on the wall of the stairwell, and you know exactly whose fault it is.
“Margaret,” you intone to the harried, wild-haired woman in the lobby.
She sighs at you as she tries to jimmy her mail key loose. “I know.”
It wouldn’t even be that bad if the kid would just skateboard outside. Or get good at skateboarding. Either of those things. Maggie’s a nice lady, though, and she’s had “trying my best” scribbled all over her since they moved into 6B maybe eight years ago. So you try not to be a dick, even if her son is a gold-standard pain in the ass. He’s good for three things: smells, noise, and reminding you how big Eddie must be by now.- Language:

Summary
No matter how little we desire it, someday every wild, creative, imaginative child must grow up. Well, he's gotta get taller. There ain't a damned thing anyone can do if he refuses to completely mature. And there are some places, some jobs, some lives, where a little imaginative flexibility can be an advantage rather than a disadvantage.
Calvin, accompanied as ever by Hobbes, may just find such a place.
