“Are you trying to tell me you’re in a gang or something?”
Yeonjun stares at Beomgyu. “Or something,” he mutters darkly.
Beomgyu isn’t as oblivious as everyone seems to believe. He knows the world is harsh and ugly, he has seen some of it firsthand, he knows. He had just never thought that this was how he and Yeonjun got to where they are. Beomgyu had just assumed his brother was always lucky, because that’s the truth.
Yeonjun always got what he wanted: new shoes, good grades, a home, a good job. If Yeonjun wanted it, it would happen somehow. Beomgyu had always just guessed that for once, the universe let a bit of Yeonjun’s luck spread to Beomgyu to keep them together after their parents died.
Nothing could have prepared him for this.
Or: Beomgyu has always been protected by his older brother, but it takes one babysitting gig and one cute ice cream truck driver for everything his brother has tried protecting him from to seep into Beomgyu's life until he finds himself right in the center of it.

“My cousin is getting married in two weeks and I need a date. My family’s been on my case about it ever since we got the invite.”
“Why would you ask me?”
“Well,” Beomgyu pauses. He purses his lips and considers the question. “Why wouldn’t I ask you?”
Or, Beomgyu needs a date to his cousin’s wedding. He figures his friends with benefit, Kai, is the best option if he wants to avoid going with the family-friend’s boring son his parents are trying to set him up with.

“Jung Kai,” Soobin reads out loud. “Twenty-six. At the company for about five years now,” he continues. “Senior marketing manager.”
“Senior marketing manager,” Beomgyu repeats in a somewhat condescending mutter.
Or: Choi Beomgyu prides himself on being the best Marketing Director this company has ever seen. He can do just about every single thing that’s asked of him. Until he’s forced to work with his main competitor as their companies merge, and Beomgyu is put to the real test of taking his rival under his wing for the biggest campaign of his career.

The question is surprising. Beomgyu stares at Kai, unable to hide the shock on his face. He is pretty used to Kai’s crazy questions, the unfathomable thoughts in his head that force Beomgyu to think just so he can come up with an answer worth giving back. In all the years he has known Kai, of all the things Kai has ever asked him, Beomgyu never expected Kai to come up with this.
See, the thing is, Beomgyu is irreparably in love with Kai.

Summary
This is Beomgyu. This is his Beomgyu. The one who asks Kai softly about his day like they didn’t spend it all together. The one who worries over Kai in more ways than one. The one who shares songs with Kai because it’s easier to talk about feelings that way sometimes. Other times it’s just nice to share songs with someone you love.
This is Beomgyu. This is someone who loves Kai.
So he waits for Beomgyu to open his eyes again, the gaze glowing with warmth as he stares at Kai kindly all over again.

“You know me the best, Kai-yah.”
The words seem to weigh differently for the two of them. Kai hums happily in response, eating a section of the orange and enjoying the cool breeze of the night. For Beomgyu, the words settle on his chest, above his heart, pushing down the feeling he knows he can never act on.
Kai has only ever grown more beautiful in the years Beomgyu has known him, his eyes sparkle more as they see more of the world, and the soft features of his face become sharp and charming. Beomgyu sometimes wishes he could trace those features with his hands, softly and carefully, just to see if it would stop the nervous tingling he feels in them when he is around Kai.

Choi Beomgyu doesn't have any priorities for his final year of high school.
Beomgyu has no choice but to join the school play or he gets kicked out of school. Kai has no choice but to put on his best act while working with his worst nightmare.

Beomgyu looks down at the ice, at his completely bent feet and tries to straighten them.
“Yeah,” he says in a light voice. “Just— been a while!”
“Ah,” Kai nods his head, turning around some more and gathering speed in his movements. Beomgyu stares at him in silence, his grip on the barriers tightening unconsciously. “It’s like riding a bike, really,” Kai says sweetly. “You don’t forget.”
Beomgyu stays silent. Now probably isn’t the right time to tell Kai he doesn’t know how to ride a bike.

“My friends think I’m some sort of hermit who doesn’t leave my one-room apartment,” Kai rambles. “So they forced me to come here tonight. Some singers they like are performing, I don’t know why I agreed.”
“That’s… not really what I meant.”
Kai coughs, looking over at the stranger. “Oh– you–” he laughs weakly. “You meant here as in here.”
“Yeah, kinda.”
“I was looking for the bathrooms,” Kai says quietly.Or, Kai learns that is it not very hard to find his person. He does, however, have to step outside of his comfort zone and allow his best friends to drag him to a music festival for the discovery to happen.

Summary
Though he has never been in a relationship before, Taehyun has definitely had crushes before. It’s one of the worst attributes to his never ending curiosity. He gets hooked onto certain people and seeks out knowledge of them, wishing to be part of their lives. But it’s always been considered a distraction, so Taehyun had only ever spent his time living in his imagination. He would create scenarios of dating his crushes, only to be devastated when his curiosity had ruined the glory of it.
He supposes that’s why they’re called crushes. They crush you.
Soobin is going to crush him.
Or: Taehyun finds himself, finds a home and finds love.

The stranger’s lips twitch with amusement. Beomgyu wants to huff in his face. Why is he finding this funny?
“I’m sorry,” he says with a smile, but he sounds genuine. “Really.”Not many people can tell you the exact moment that their life changes. Beomgyu has been in and out of hospitals for nearly his whole life, that’s something that has never changed. When he moves to a new hospital, Beomgyu had not anticipated meeting the person that would change his life forever.

“Do you think about that night?” Beomgyu asks, eyes lifting from their hands to Kai’s face. “I do,” he mutters.
“You’re drunk,” Kai says, a little helplessly.
Beomgyu shakes his head. “Barely,” he whispers. “Do you regret it? Do you hate me now?”
“What?” Kai frowns. “Why would I hate you, you’re one of my best friends.”
There’s a change in Beomgyu’s gaze that Kai can’t quite put his finger on. All he knows is that the soft look in his eyes morphs into something a little more steady. Beomgyu looks at their hands again.
“Do you regret it?”Kai wasn’t looking for love. He also wasn’t look to hook up with one of his best friends at a random party. Maybe things aren’t meant to go as he had expected. Maybe Beomgyu is just a good distraction from his otherwise draining life.

“You’re a nice guy, aren’t you?” The stranger sighs as if it’s a loss.
Kai shrugs his shoulders. “Depends what you define as nice.”
His employees probably wouldn’t say he’s nice. His mother might, and his sister might say it if she’s in a good mood. Soobin would have to think before answering. Yeonjun would definitely disagree. Kai looks at the tumbler hanging by the grip of his fingertip, disappointed at the emptiness that greets him. God, he’s so tired.
Or, Huening Kai is one of Seoul's richest men under thirty. He runs a conglomerate business with his best friend, and he has a good relationship with his little sister. His apartment is his dream home, his life seems to be the dream life.
Except for the fact that Kai is maybe a little bit miserable and exhausted.
So when he gets given a card to a place that might help him fill the void, Kai learns that there's a lot more he's been needing besides a fancy apartment and nice car.

Summary
Beomgyu’s room is completely dark.
Kai’s head is barely on the pillow, and his legs aren’t even properly stretched out. He’d take up way too much space if he did that. But it’s not uncomfortable. The tightness in his chest dissolves into nothing the second Beomgyu’s hand reaches for him under the covers. He tugs gently, causing Kai to twist onto his side and face Beomgyu. Though he can’t see very well, Kai is made pleasantly aware of how close Beomgyu is to him by the soft breaths he can feel against his face.
Or, Kai navigates his way out of a dark place with the help of his members, and his boyfriend.

“We should break up.”
Taehyun expected the anger, or maybe the confusion. He expected Kai to frown and put up a fight. The last thing Taehyun expected was for Kai to burst into laughter.
“Wh– why are you laughing?” Taehyun is the one confused. Kai purposely stops his cackle, looking right at Taehyun. He watches the expected confusion settle into those intoxicated eyes.
“What?” Kai asks softly, the small smile still there. His lips falter and his eyebrows twitch between a frown and a blank expression. “You’re joking, right?”Or, five instances of Kang Taehyun and Huening Kai loving each other.
